Request for my ✨beloved gremlin✨ Leona, Vil, Azul, and Jamil hanging out with their significant other when they just stand up and go “my children/dumbasses need me” and seeing them later scolding one of the first year crew for being well… who they are as people.(dumbasses your honor)
{hello fellow gremlin! time for MC to beat up another first year B) }
Tumblr media
Leona Kingscholar
Leona was used to his partner saying somewhat strange things, especially at weird times
he was napping with them in the gardens when suddenly they shot up from his arms and looked around
"I can feel Ace doing something stupid..." they mumbled before getting up fully
he sighed and followed them a bit further behind, still waking up as they approached Ace
he snorted and watched them in amusement as they scolded Ace for whatever dumbass thing he was about to do
Tumblr media
Azul Ashengrotto
Azul knew his partner saw the other first years as their children in some way
he was used to them doting on the other first years, making sure they made it to class or had snacks
so when they, in the middle of a shift with him in the lounge declared they had to go check on Deuce, he just shrugged
a few minutes later they returned, dragging the first year in question behind them and putting him to work
Azul just chuckled and didn't question it, handing Deuce a tray of drinks for him to carry
Tumblr media
Jamil Viper
Jamil, much like his partner, had his own Resident Idiot to take care of, so he didn't mind when they also did it
they were sitting in Scarabia's kitchen, finishing up dishes for the night when his partner paused
"I think I can feel Sebek about to start another argument, be right back." they exclaimed, rushing out of the door
about ten minutes later, Jamil wandered out near the mirror room to find his partner scolding Sebek
he chuckled as he saw Sebek's ashamed expression; he guessed that only his partner and Malleus himself could make Sebek look like that
Tumblr media
Vil Schoenheit
Vil was thankful for his partner's caring and loving nature, showing them off for it as much as possible
they were in the middle of a spa date, face mask firmly in place and feet soaking in rosewater when his partner sat up
"Epel is going to do something stupid. I bet he's gonna start a fight..." they said, getting up and pulling their shoes on
he chuckled and waved as they left, deciding to finish the spa date up a bit early
about fifteen minutes later, he found his partner scolding Epel in the lounge, the first year pouting and crossing his arms in front of his chest

𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐘? 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐎𝐍 𝐌𝐘 𝐅𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 !
Tumblr media
kazutora hanemiya, rindou haitani, smiley kawata x gn!reader - fluff/comfort (0.8k+)
request: Hello! I would like to do a request if its posible about headcanons of smiley, Kazutora and Rindou with a S/O thats always lonely at school - she just wants a friend to talk to and have fun with besides her boyfriend
Tumblr media
KAZUTORA
aint no way kazutora is gonna allow for his baby to feel lonely at school—NOT ON HIS FUCKING WATCH !!
it was hard to be by your side, since kazutora was in jail (lmfao) for years
he felt extremely guilty, basically cried himself to sleep everynight since the day you told him about how you were beginning to feel at school
his heart clenched when you explained how isolated you felt from everyone else, especially since he was never around to hang out anymore
BUT THE DAY HE CAME BACK—oh, you're in for it now, classmates of y/n
with his unique charm and handsome looks, he's practically threatening asking everyone to befriend you with a simple ring of his earring
"sit with y/n at lunch today, kay?" with his cute little head tilt
there's basically a line up of people ready to sit next to you but of course that seat is reserved for kazutora and kazutora only
"ah, ah, ah! that's mine seat assholes, nice try though!"
you're confused as to why they would even listen to your boyfriend, since he's kinda a dick (don't tell him that) but you are grateful for his efforts
you're able to meet a lot of nice and genuine people, who are equally as happy they met you as well
the smile on your face as you converse with your new buddies is enough for kazutora to feel accomplished
but don't go forgetting about him!—kazu needs his daily kiss-on-the-cheek at lunch, too!
RINDOU
i feel like rindou could sort of empathize with your feelings; i hc him and ran don't have many friends besides each other and fellow gang members
since the two of them spent almost their entire teen years getting into trouble with the police and otherwise
rindou's silent as he listens, nodding to show you his understanding before he places a kiss on your knuckles and gestures you to come with him
he begins to invite you out more—to hang out with ran and him
eventually, you're going on insanely late bike rides with them and the rest of tenjiku
you're surprised how quickly you got along with the members, and rindou can tell you're having fun everytime you laugh at an inside joke with shion or choke on your drink at sanzu's antics
and because rindou is exposing you to other connections, you're able to meet people you never dreamed you would've befriended
you show your gratefulness to him one night parked outside a convenience store—the rest of the boys having gone inside to purchase snacks and drinks
"thank you for everything, rin'" you tiptoe to place a peck on his lips, pulling back slightly before he pushes himself further onto you, making your lips smack together once more
he chuckles into the kiss when you grip onto his arms for balance, "don't worry about it, sweetheart."
"OH MY GOD, GET A ROOM YOU TWO!" - ran
"YEAH NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO SEE YOU SUCK EACH OTHER'S FACES OFF!" - sanzu
cue izana and kakucho laughter
"FUCK OFF!" - rindou and you, simultaneously
SMILEY
"what the fuck do you mean no one wants to be your friend? who's face do i gotta beat in?!" - smiley is livid, if you can't tell
"well when you say it like that, it makes me sound like a loser!" you playfully push your boyfriend by his chest >:(
"oh.. sorry babe!" and his face is like -o-
like rindou, smiley suggests you spend more time with his friends instead! you were already pretty well aquainted with them all, except for a few
you were excited, so excited that smiley found it cute the way you squeezed him a little tighter on the bike ride to the gang's hang out spot
today, mikey and baji had decided to invite everyone to a nearby arcade
draken, mitsuya, and mucho were currently waiting with them, conversing amongst themselves as they waited for the remainder people to arrive
"we're here!! and y/n is with me." smiley announces, parking his bike and walking hand in hand with you; you smile at the towering men, as they recognize your face from afar
"took you twins long enough! and hey y/n! it's been a while, how've you been?" draken asks with a wide grin, hand reaching out for a fist bump
mitsuya greets you as well, stating he's happy you could make it and mucho simply nods with a smile
him and smiley share a handshake while you catch up with the other boys, mikey and baji equally happy to see you here
the day is filled with laughter and greasy snacks from the fast food next door, until everyone is hopping on their bikes and bidding one another goodnight
"you have fun today?" smiley asks casually, arms propped behind his head
"yes, my baby, thank you." you kiss the boy on the cheek, and he wraps his arms around you with glee
"just know you're invited for all future toman hang outs, 'kay!"

Our Playlist: Candy - Cameo
Tumblr media
Song lyric: **" You're like a brand new feeling, in a special way, A surprise package, On a bright clear sunny day."
You and Chris are unpacking all of the food and drinks you just bought from the store for your game night. Tonight you would be meeting some of Chris' friends. Okay not just friends, but his fellow co stars from the Avengers.
You let out a deep breathe, "Not gonna lie I'm kinda nervous about meeting everyone."
Chris stops unpacking and touches your hand, "there's no reason to be. I love you and they will too." He kisses your cheek and continues unpacking the food. You put all of the drinks and beer in the fridge while Chris sets up the snacks on the coffee table. You guys then get games from the hallway closet and place them on the coffee table. You also bring out one of your portal white boards to keep score and to maybe play pictionary.
The doorbell rings and Chris takes your hand, "they're here." You take a deep breath as you're walking to the door and Chris squeezes your hand, "hey, it's gonna be fine" and kisses you on the cheek. You smile and Chris opens the front door. The first person you see is Anthony Mackie.
"Heeeey!" Chris and Anthony exchange hugs and Chris introduces you. "Anthony, this is (y/n). (Y/n) this is Anthony."
You shake his hand, "nice to meet you."
"Pleasure is all mine. You're more beautiful than Chris described."
You blush at his comment, "thank you."
"Hey stop flirting with the poor girl, she's already taken." You turn around and see Scarlett.
You laugh, "Hi Scarlett."
"Hi, it's (y/n), right?" You shake hands.
"Yeah."
"Nice to meet you. And ignore Anthony's flirty comments." She gives him a playfully punch on the shoulder. She greets Chris with a hug, "hi Chris."
"Hi Scarlett."
Next to walk in is Sebastian Stan and Chris Hemsworth.
"This is Sebastian and this is the other Chris. Guys, this is (y/n)."
"Hi (y/n), nice to meet you" Sebastian shakes your hand.
"Nice to meet you."
"Hi, other Chris" you laugh as you shake his hand.
"Please, feel free to call me Hemmy. There'll be less confusion."
You smile, "Alright, Hemmy it is."
Chris closes the front door as everyone takes a seat in the living room, "you guys want a beer or something to drink?"
Everyone including you answers yes in unison. Chris laughs and heads to the kitchen to grab some beers for everyone.
Anthony scoots to the edge of the couch and clips his hands together, "Alright, so what's the first game we're gonna play? I came here to win!"
Scarlett points to the white board, "let's start off easy, how about some pictionary?"
Sebastian answers, "sounds good. Who's on what team?"
"Well I would say boys versus girls, but we're outnumbered" Scarlett replies.
"I'll be the better man and join you ladies," Hemmy raises his hand.
Chris walks back into the living room with everyone's drinks, "so did we decide what we're starting with?"
You answer, "yeah, pictionary. And you're on the loser team with Sebastian and Anthony" you give Chris a smirk and everyone laughs.
"Oh, starting the trash talking early aren't we?" Anthony asks.
"Of course." You smile at Anthony.
"Alright let's start. Our team goes first." Anthony grabs a marker from the table and a card with the subject on it.
You grab the sand timer from the table, "Okay you got 30 seconds to draw. Ready? Go!" You flip it over and the sand starts to flow. Everyone's attention is on Anthony as he starts to draw. He starts with a stick figure standing on some sort of board.
Chris and Sebastian start yelling out their guesses.
"Surfer!"
"Surfing!"
Anthony shakes his head. He adds dots around the stick figure.
"What the fuck is that???" Chris shouts.
Everyone starts laughing. Anthony then draws pine trees.
"Snowboarding?"
"Snowboarder?"
Anthony then draws an arrow to the board.
"Snowboard!" Sebastian stands up and yells.
"Oh my God finally" Anthony says.
"Wait, hang on, what are the dots?" Chris points to the picture, "are those supposed to snowflakes? That's not how you draw snowflakes, man."
"whatever, we got the point."
Anthony takes a seat back on the couch and Scarlett is the first to go from your team. Sebastian flips the timer and Scarlett begins to the draw. She first draws a big mouth with teeth showing. You and Hemmy begin guessing.
"Smile!"
"Teeth."
She then draws a toothbrush.
"Toothbrush!"
She adds bubbles around the toothbrush.
You point to the board and shout, "toothpaste!"
"Yes!" Scarlett runs up to you and gives you a high five.
Sebastian is up next. You flip the timer and he begins drawing. First he draws a t-shirt and pants.
"Clothes!"
"Outfit!"
Sebastian then adds a bed.
"Pajamas!?" Chris yells.
Sebastian nods his head, "Yeeeeeah." He gives Chris and Anthony fist bumps before taking a seat. It's now Hemmy's turn to draw. Chris flips the time and he starts. He draws a circle with a little leaf on the top.
"An apple!"
"A tomato.
He then draws a bottle.
"Apple juice?"
"Apple cider!"
Hemmy shakes his head and quickly draws a hotdog and a squiggly line on it and points to it.
You stand up and shout, "ketchup!"
Hemmy points to you and everyone busts out laughing. Hemmy gives you a high five and passes the marker to Chris. He grabs a card and he waits for you to flip the timer to begin drawing.
Chris starts with a big square.
"Picture frame."
"TV."
Chris laughs and draws a couple of fish.
"A fish tank!"
"Finding Nemo?"
Chris shakes his head and continues drawing. He draws stick figures.
"Scuba diving!"
"Deep sea divers!"
Chris shakes his head again and adds a whale, but the timer runs out.
"Time!!!" Scarlett shouts.
Chris groans, "damn it."
"Was it an aquarium?" Sebastian asks.
"Yeah." Chris answers. He puts his head down and walks over to you and hands you the marker. You give him a pouty face and pat him on the shoulder as you walk by. Sebastian flips the timer and you start drawing.
"Balloon!"
"Hot air balloon"
You then add a stick figure to the bottom of the balloon.
"Skydiving"
"Sky diver."
You draw an arrow to the balloon part of your drawing.
"A parachute!" Hemmy yells.
"Yes!" You run up to your teammates and give a high five.
You guys play a couple more rounds. Your team has been in the lead by just 1 point. It's the last round and Chris' team needs to get this last drawing in order to win the game.
"Alright so who's gonna go for your team?"
"Uh we vote Sebastian to go."
Sebastian stands up and heads to the white board.
"Come on man you got this." Anthony roots.
You flip the timer and he starts drawing. Within a couple of seconds the game is over.
"Cat"
"Kitten!"
Sebastian quickly turns around bows.
"What the fuck? That was too easy." You yell.
Everyone cracks up.
Anthony leans over, "what did you say about the losing team earlier?"
You roll your eyes and stick out your tongue, "oh shush."
"What should we play next?" Scarlett asks.
Anthony quickly replies, "doesn't matter because I'm gonna win."
Sebastian grabs the deck of cards on the table, "Uno?"
You raise an eyebrow, "How about drunk uno? If you forget to shout out Uno when you're down to one card you gotta take a shot in addition to picking up cards."
Everyone nods, "sounds good."
You run to the kitchen to grab shot glasses and liquor from the cabinet while the rest of them clear off the coffee table and grab extra chairs from the dining room and sit around the table. Chris shuffles the cards and passes them out.
While you guys are playing they ask how you and Chris met. Chris explains how you met at the welcome home party. You smile and start to reminisce and forget to yell uno when you put your card down.
Sebastian quickly points to you and shouts, "uno! Take a shot."
"Ah shit, I got distracted."
Chris quickly turns to you and kisses your cheek, "sorry" he whispers.
You laugh and pour yourself a shot.
The game continues. During the game Hemmy and Anthony end up taking shots for forgetting to shout uno. Scarlett ends up winning the first game. Chris wins the second game even though he had to take 2 shots for not yelling uno the first two times. You were starting to think that the alcohol was helping him focus because he also won the next game. You guys play a few more rounds of uno before just lounging around the coffee table talking and drinking.
Chris and Anthony get up from their seats to go to the kitchen for more snacks.
You go to the bathroom while the others pick what game they wanna play next. When you come back from the bathroom the group has decided to play cards against humanity and are setting up the game. You head to the kitchen to tell Chris and Anthony to hurry up when you sneak up on them talking about you. You hide behind one of the pillars and listen in on their conversation.
"You seem really happy", Anthony says leaning against the kitchen counter.
Chris looks down and smiles, "I am, man. I really am", he takes a drink of his beer.
"She's perfect for you, man. She has the same humor as you."
He laughs, "Thanks. I love her so much."
Your eyes tear up a bit and you smile. You take a deep breath and come out from behind the pillar. "Hey guys, we're ready for the next game. Let's go." You walk up to Chris and wrap your arms around him. He notices your eyes are watery.
"You okay?"
"Uh yeah", you put your hand on his chest.
Chris smiles and kisses your forehead.
"Alright you love birds, let's go" Anthony buds in.
You guys head back to the living room and rejoin the rest of the group. During the rounds of Cards Against Humanity the group gets a real feel for the sense of humor you have. A dirty sense of humor to be exact because you win the first two games.
You guys play for a bit longer before calling it quits since its 3 o'clock in the morning. Once everyone has left, you and Chris attempt to clean up, but are distracted by each other. Every time you pass him he grabs you and kisses you.
You moan against his lips, "come on Chris, we gotta clean up. I don't wanna do it tomorrow morning."
He groans and kisses your forehead, "Okay fine, but as soon as we're done you're mine."
You guys continue cleaning up, but when you see Chris in the kitchen putting stuff away in the cupboard you sneak up behind him and wrap your arms around him. He jumps at your touch, "hey, what did you say earlier? Hands off til we're done."
"Yeah, I'm done" You kiss him on the cheek.
He points to the counter, "Okay but I'm not. I still need to put this stuff away."
You tickle his sides, "hurry up."
"Hey!" Chris quickly turns around and tries to tickle you, but you slip out of his reach and take off running down the hallway to your bedroom. "You're not getting away that easy."
Chris grabs you and you both fall onto the bed out of breath and laughing. He rolls you over so he's laying on top of you both of his arms on either side of you so he doesn't squish you. You run your hands up and down his forearms as he looks into your eyes. You both calm down from laughing. "Told you I'll catch you."
You bite your lip, "Now that you have me, what's next?"
"This." Chris leans down and starts kissing you. You moan against his lips. You wrap your arms around him to pull him closer. He kisses your neck, "I love you, (y/n)."
"I love you too."
You guys keep kissing each other before you push on Chris' chest.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm hot."
Chris laughs, "why yes you are."
You smile, "No, well thanks, but I meant you're making me hot."
Chris raises an eyebrow, "you're welcome."
You laugh, "goddamn it, that's not what I meant, Chris. Well in that category you are too, but I mean temperature hot." You tug at his jacket.
He looks down and laughs, "Oh." He sits on the edge of the bed and kicks off his shoes and starts taking off his jacket and shirt. When he turns back he sees you have taken off your shirt as well. He lays back on top of you. "Better?"
"Much better?" You wrap your arms around his back and kiss him. Chris' hands start to wander down your sides, but he feels you tense up and stops.
"Hey what's wrong?" He cups your face with his hand. You keep your eyes close and stay silent. Chris kisses you on the cheek. "(Y/n), what's wrong? Talk to me."
You open your eyes and let out a deep breath, "As much as I would love to have sex with you right now, I'm not ready yet... Sorry." Your eyes are watery so you look away.
Chris cups your face so you would look at him, "Hey, Don't be sorry. I'm more than okay with waiting." He kisses your cheek as a single tear rolls down. "I love you." He hugs you before rolling over and pulling you close to his chest.
"I love you too."

Jury Duty
Fandom: The Nanny
Genre: Romance/Humor/Comfort
Pairing: Fran Fine/C.C. Babcock
Rating: M
Summary: C.C. has been called to jury duty, and Fran decides to come along, placing C.C. in a very uncomfortable position considering the feelings she has been harboring for the nanny the last four years. To make matters worse, there's only one room left in the hotel.
Word Count:  2,826
Author’s Note: My first fic in six years, folks! I am currently neck deep in The Nanny hyper fixation, Fran x C.C. in particular, and I was inspired by my lovely friends and fellow shippers to write my first fic in years and very first fic for this pairing! Boy, have I come a long way since my Fran/Maxwell fanfic on Quizilla.com when I was 14-years-old. Interwoven with canon from S04E17: Samson, He Denied Her. Please enjoy!
This fic can also be found here on AO3.
“What’s that?”
“That’s...the nanny.”
_______
C.C. rolled onto her stomach, burying her face into her pillow, and groaned, the coolness of her satin pillowcase warming to match her body temperature a bit too quickly for her liking. As she shifted, contemplating whether to get up or relegate herself to a day in bed, ignoring all responsibility and...other stressors, an orange-brown fluff next to her feet growled.
Damn dog.
In order to prevent the mongrel from biting at her ankles, C.C. slowly pulled her legs up towards her chest before gently removing the covers, pushing herself up into a seated position, and scooting to let her legs hang off the side of the bed. She sighed and looked at her alarm clock.
5:30 AM
She had one of those dreams again. She was rarely the type to dream, but somehow her subconscious had been invaded by the intrusive thoughts she routinely pushed away during her waking hours. Sparkling red, a hand on her waist, her own hand tangled in a large nest of brown hair, and the recalled scent of scratch-and-sniff magazine perfume flashed through her mind before she could prevent it. She groaned again--loudly--and a retort, almost indistinguishable from her own guttural sound, emitted from the ball of fluff.
C.C. let out one more sigh before standing with renewed intention to have a good, productive day. She would bury her nose--and her mind--in her work. No one could get in the way of her and her job. She was the C.C. Babcock. She made her way to the kitchen and started her coffee maker. While she waited, she opened an envelope that she had left sitting on the table and froze, defeated.
_______
C.C. barged into Maxwell Sheffield’s office, ignoring the skip in her chest when she caught the image of brown, black, red, and white in her peripheral, accompanied by that--against all odds--alluring scent.
“Maxwell, you are not gonna believe this. I have been summoned for jury duty! Well, that is the last time I vote.”
The blur came closer. “Ms. Babcock, maybe I’ll go be on that jury with you.”
C.C. covered her panic with a chuckle. “Nanny Fine, you can’t just go.” This was it. The perfect moment for a witty jab. That would help. “It’s not like Supercuts.”
“Are you kidding? I’ve got a drawer full of those things. Besides, there’s nothing keeping me here.” Fran glared at Maxwell, and C.C. silently stepped out of the office as she heard the man’s voice raise, only making out an exasperated, “Ms. Fine!”
_______
“Oh I’ve just gotta get on this jury!”
As Fran blabbed on, C.C. tried not to focus on how close together they were sitting and how she could still feel the heat from the nanny’s hand on her knee, even after she had removed it. As Fran handed her a book, C.C. was given another chance at a jab. She gasped theatrically.
“You know him?”
“No. You read?”
Fran snatched the book out of C.C.’s hand, and C.C. laughed, the awareness of her leaning closer to Fran escaping her.
_______
“What do you mean there’s just one room left?” C.C. growled at the hotel receptionist.
The receptionist looked at the tall, blond woman towering above them nervously. “I-uh I’m sorry, ma’am, there are no other rooms available. Just the one.”
“But we have two people--” Fran gently placed her hand on C.C.’s shoulder and stepped in between her and the distressed receptionist.
“Are there two beds?” she asked, smiling.
“Y-yes,” the receptionist said hesitantly and then, more assured after calming down, “Yes, there are two beds.”
“See Babs? No harm, no foul,” Fran said brightly, squeezing C.C.’s shoulder as she reached over the counter to take the room key. As they walked towards their room, Fran went on and on about the plot of the romance novel she had shoved in C.C.’s hands earlier. C.C. focused on her breathing, trying to remain calm. She could feel the heat creep up her neck the moment the kid at the desk said they only had one room available, and now she didn’t even have to look to know she had red blotches all over her chest and cheeks. She couldn’t distinguish between her anger and...fear? No. C.C. Babcock was never scared.
“So then when he pulls her in--” holding the book close to her chest, Fran twirled around to face C.C. as she continued walking down the hallway backwards. “Ms. Babcock? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” C.C. responded curtly.
“You’re not having an allergic reaction, are you?” Fran rushed up to her and lifted her hand to examine C.C.’s face as she spoke. “You gotta be careful with shellfish! You know, my cousin, Ernie, never had an allergic reaction in his life. One day, 40 years old, he ate one fried shrimp and BAM --”
C.C. slapped Fran’s hand away, “I’m fine.” Her heart was racing.
“Okay, okay, sorry Mrs. Hyde.” Fran threw her hands in the air, and C.C. could have sworn she gave a tiny pout as she turned around and continued towards their room. When she opened the door, she paused, pulled it back to her, and turned. “You know, Ms. Babcock, we should celebrate! How about a drink? A whiskey. Bourbon. On me.” She winked then stood up straight with a stern look on her face, “ Well. Not top shelf.”
“Nanny Fine,” C.C. uttered through gritted teeth, “I just want to--” she pushed past Fran and opened the door “--lie down.” She stopped in the doorway, still as if she had come face-to-face with Medusa herself.
One bed stood in the room.
_______
The first night was somewhat tolerable. Fran was very kind to C.C., ensuring she was comfortable and that she did not take up too much of her space. C.C. reciprocated by keeping her distance as well. Falling asleep was another story. C.C. was the first to lie down. Being on the side of the bed facing the bathroom, she saw the nanny walk out, wearing one of her bathrobes. God, I hope she has something under that. She could hear the shuffling of the fabric as Fran let the robe fall to the floor and felt the weight in the bed shift as the other woman settled in. Before she could make sense of what was happening, she felt two swift pats on her hip. “Goodnight, Ms. Babcock!”
“Hm,” was the only confirmation she could utter.
C.C. was hyper aware of Fran’s presence. She measured the woman’s breathing and could tell by the slower, deeper breaths when she fell asleep. It took her a while to close her eyes. Every time she did, she saw Fran’s hand on her knee…
Her shoulder…
Her hip…
C.C. jolted awake from a half-sleep. She sighed and stared at the wall in the dark. The blackout curtains weren’t closed all the way, and she could see a sliver of light flash on the wall every once in a while. She could hear sirens, car horns, distant yelling, and sometimes a drunken laugh. She didn’t know what time it was, but it felt like she had been drifting in and out of almost-sleep for hours, still aware of the body radiating heat and energy next to her. What is it about Fran Fine? was the last thought that crossed her mind before she drifted into a very, very light sleep.
_______
C.C.’s eyes traveled down Fran’s figure as she stood up when Vincenzo approached the stand, her expression a mixture of endearment and bewilderment. Why her?, a question echoing the sentiment from the night before repeating in her mind. The rest of the day in the courtroom was filled with typical annoyances, with the exception of a moment of outburst from Fran that left C.C. with the sting of an emotion she couldn’t quite place in the moment as she softly pulled Fran’s arm down.
_______
The next day, C.C. pinpointed the emotion as Fran spoke. “See, that is what happens when a man tells you that he loves you and then he takes it back.”
Jealousy.
C.C.’s face was still until she realized her arms were full of snacks that Fran had been piling onto her.
“What are you looking for?”
“My Dexatrim,” Fran responded.
C.C. rolled her eyes and stuffed the food back into Fran’s bag, the thought popping into her mind again. Why her?
_______
She was exhausted. Eight days, hardly any sleep, and “a horse is a horse, of course, of course” stuck in her head practically 24/7, C.C. wanted to explode when she read the words on the slip of paper, “And one ‘not guilty’…,” followed by Fran convincing another juror to vote “not guilty.” Every time she thought she was going to escape her personal hell, she was dragged back down. She was Sisyphus, and Nanny Fine was her boulder.
C.C. stood. “Could it be that you’re just a little sensitive to this shrew maid because you have some fantasy of ending up with your employer yourself?”
Sting.
“Let she who is without fantasy cast the first stone!”
Ohh, if only you knew, Nanny Fine!
The rest of the afternoon was full of more sting as Fran not-so-subtly talked about Maxwell and the children, but at least they were finally done. C.C. could go home and try to put this all behind her.
As they walked out of the courtroom, Fran hooked her arm through C.C.’s and cheerfully said, “I have a proposal.”
“And what would that be, Ms. Fine?”
“I propose we take one more night off. You know, eat, drink, relax, before heading back to work.”
“Nanny Fine, I really--”
“Pleeease Ms. Babcock?” Fran pleaded, stopping and tugging on her arm. C.C. looked into Fran’s eyes: earnest, gentle, kind.
That’s why her. “Well, alright.”
“You know, I really feel like this has been a good bonding experience for us.”
C.C. rolled her eyes...and couldn’t help but smile.

She wasn’t drunk, but she did feel a little tipsy. A little more relaxed. She and Fran were making their way back to their room after a pleasant evening of food and a couple drinks each. The nanny really was good company, when C.C. let herself enjoy it. C.C. settled into what she had established as her side of the bed for the previous eight nights, lying on her back and staring at the ceiling. Her blond hair pooled on the feather pillow under her head. She could hear the sink faucet turn on. A couple of splashes. Off. The towel being pulled off the rack. C.C. tore her eyes from the ceiling to the bathroom door. Fran walked out and, as she walked around to her side of the bed, began to untie her robe. C.C. didn’t take her eyes off of her. Fran wasn’t wearing anything particularly risqué--why would she be--but the loose fitting, thin material that made up her pajamas hung on her perfectly. C.C. could feel her neck and cheeks getting warm again--a nightly routine for her body at this point--and she turned over to hide. Her head was reeling with the influx of emotions she had felt over the last week, a mental Rolodex: anxious, longing, annoyed, jealous, hopeful...hurt.
“Nanny Fine?” She wasn’t sure if Fran had fallen asleep.
“Yeah, Babs?”
Her heart skipped.
“Why…” she turned over to face the nanny. “Why do you put up with it?”
Fran had been facing the other way. She turned over. The bedside table lamp hadn’t been turned off yet. C.C. was able to look into the other woman’s eyes again.
“Put up with what?”
“Maxwell. He...well, obviously he isn’t willing to give you what you want. Why hold out hope?”
“Why do you?” Fran retorted with a hint of defensiveness.
C.C. was silent for a moment. “I think I’ve confused myself.” Oh god, how much did I have to drink? “I don’t think what I really desire is what...I thought I desired.” I don’t feel drunk.
Fran maintained eye contact. Silent. Almost as if she knew. C.C. cast her gaze down. She felt a hand on her shoulder.
“Why do you act so hard?” the woman said. The words were accusatory but the tone was soft and empathetic. Despite her attempts to keep them at bay, C.C. could feel the sting of tears and a lump in her throat. “Oh, Ms. Babcock,” Fran whispered, slowly rubbing the blond’s shoulder with her thumb. “You really are a wonderful, caring woman. You just won’t let others see it. Like you’re protecting yourself from something.” Earnest, gentle...kind.
That’s why her.
“You hurt others before they can hurt you.”
C.C. looked back into Fran’s eyes. Up to this point, she thought her jabs had all been in jest. “Have I hurt you?”
Fran laughed. “Oh, honey. It takes more than what you can throw to hurt me.” C.C. sniffled. “But listen. I was holding out hope for Mr. Sheffield because the other person I noticed--the strong, loyal, brilliant woman who crossed my path every day--didn’t treat me the way I deserve to be treated.” Before C.C. could interject, Fran continued. “Now, that’s not to say he’s a saint. Faaaar from it, missy. But you, Babs. I see a lot of potential in you, but you gotta soften up that thing you got in that chest of yours.”
“I...don’t--half the time, I don’t even know what I’m feeling,” the words started escaping from her lips, betraying every cell in her body, every natural inclination she had. At least what she thought up to this point was natural for her. “When I first saw you, four years ago, in that sparkling red dress...the way you moved, the way you talked, your confidence, god I felt so...so intensely jealous. But...four years later, and I can’t get that image of you out of my head. Just you. Not Maxwell.”
Fran lifted her hand to wipe a tear from C.C.’s face then back to her shoulder. She felt the woman’s hand travel from her shoulder down her arm…
Her waist…
Her hip…
Then she tugged.
C.C. placed her hand on the brunette’s waist as she was pulled in, the many inches between them closed. She gasped, and her breathing became uneven. She could feel the flush in her cheeks as she glanced down at Fran’s lips, which she now noticed were coming closer...and closer. She had kissed people before. Plenty of times. But Fran’s lips felt like home. They were soft and warm, moving in tandem with her own. The perfect fit. C.C. moved her hand up Fran’s side, taking note of every inch of her curvature, until she was able to tangle her hand in that nest of beautiful, brown hair. Every breath she took in between kisses was filled with that wonderfully intoxicating scratch-and-sniff perfume scent, and in the moments a soft, nasally moan escaped from the nanny’s lips, C.C.’s hips pushed forward and she moaned in return. Fran coaxed C.C. onto her back with a gentle but firm push and straddled her, not letting their lips part for more than a second. C.C. put both hands on each of Fran’s hips as Fran began to leave a trail of kisses down C.C.’s neck…
Her collarbone…
Her chest…
This is better than being drunk...
_______
C.C. finally got the rest she needed. She woke up from a deep sleep and could feel the tangling of sheets around her body. As she began to shift, she felt a heavy weight on her legs and her waist. A quiet, gravely moan emitted next to her ear. As C.C. rolled over, Fran shifted but didn’t move her leg or her arm. Instead, she tightened her grip and pulled the woman closer. C.C. caressed Fran’s face as her eyes fluttered open.
“Mornin’, Babs baby.”
“Morning, Fran,” C.C. said with a smile and placed a sweet kiss on the nanny’s lips.
_______
Hand-in-hand, C.C. and Fran walked up to the desk in the hotel lobby to check out. The receptionist from their first night was working that morning. Fran smiled and slid the key across the counter, while C.C. took out her credit card to pay for all the unexpected nights.
“Good morning, ladies! Hope you enjoyed your stay. Did the pull out couch work out alright?” the receptionist asked.
Fran and C.C. exchanged glances and both blurted, “The what?”

Drunken Confessions| Haru Kato
A/n: I needed a drunk, blushing Haru in my life, say thank you to episode four everyone. Also, I just realized my birthday lands on the same day ep 5 comes out (〃^∇^)ノ very happy about that. (I know I said requests are closed but;;; if any Haru fans wanna... you can.) Not proof read, I’m tired and just wanted this done.
Words: 3k
It has officially been two years since you’ve joined the Modern Crime division, and to celebrate your accomplishment, your colleagues decided to have a small gathering for you.
Everyone was congratulating you, and praising you for your service and dedication for the past couple years. It warmed your heart knowing how much everybody cared about you. Mahoro even brought you some of your favorites candies as well, and it definitely made your night so much better.
It all ended too soon for your liking, but it was getting late and everyone still had to go to work early the next morning. The only person who hasn’t left yet was Kato Haru, a fellow co-worker of yours who started working in the same division not that long before you. You guys had that in common, and naturally drifted towards each other.
Now that you think about it, you hadn’t seen much of him tonight. You didn’t realize that earlier since you were too busy being surrounded by people.
“You’re not leaving, (L/n)-san?”
“No,” you answered, walking around the room collecting the leftover trash left laying about, “I’m gonna hang back and clean up. It’s the least I can do since everyone was kind enough to host a party for me.”
“Then I’ll help you too,” you heard the sound of wood clattering. You looked over to where you heard it and saw Kato grabbing a broom and dust pan.
Dumping the empty cans and used napkins into the garbage, you went over to him and attempted to take the supplies from him, “It’s fine, Kato-san. Really. I can do this myself.”
“It’s no problem,” he shook his head at you. “Plus, I can’t ignore someone in need of help!” He flashed you a pure smile as he continued to sweep the floor. You can’t believe how generous he was sometimes.
He always made a point of helping others, even when it wasn’t necessary, or didn’t benefit him in any way. Maybe that’s why you fell for him so hard.
Taking a deep breath to calm your beating heart, you responded with a simple, “Thank you.” And continued with your cleaning. You tried your best to not invade his personal space, being alone with him and doing something so domestic as cleaning reminded you of things old married couples would do together.
After a couple minutes, the room was back in its original state. You had to admit, if Kato didn’t help you, it would've taken you longer to finish.
“You did a good job cleaning,” you commented. He was both fast and efficient, it wasn’t a half assed job.
His face grew red from the compliment, “It’s nothing. Just something I learned since I live alone,” he rubbed the nape of his neck nervously.
“I see…” The atmosphere grew slightly awkward since you couldn’t think of anything else to say. “Well, I’ll be going now, Kato-san. Thank you for all your hard work.”
“Actually…” He called out right before you left, “I was wondering if you’d want to come to my place.” You stared back at him, confused as to why he would suddenly invite you to his apartment. Unless he meant- “N-not in tha-that way, o-of course! It’s just that…” He cleared his throat before speaking again. “I have a bottle of soju for you and I left it home.”
“Is that all? Then you can just give it to me tomorrow, there’s no need to trouble yourself.”
“It won’t be any trouble at all. Besides, it’s for you to celebrate this occasion. Wouldn’t be much of a gift if I don’t give it to you the day of.”
Knowing how stubborn he was, and how he won’t let this go, you agreed with him and followed him back home. The walk there was peaceful, and conversation seemed to flow more easily now that you were out of work.
There were a few times where you caught yourself walking too close to him that you felt his hands graze past yours, you had the urge to hold his hand and keep walking like nothing happened. But you refrained yourself from doing so, he was a co-worker, and it would be unprofessional to do so.
The two of you finally made it to his apartment, you trailed behind him as you walked up the stairs. It was a normal apartment complex, rightfully sized for someone who lived alone.
Once you reached the door, Kato unlocked it and stepped inside. “You can wait here, it’s too cold to wait outside.” He started to take off his shoes, and placed them on the floor, then ventured further into his apartment.
You listened and waited for him at the entrance hall. This was your first time at his place despite knowing him for two years, it had just never come up. You took everything in, it was a tad messy but you knew that just meant it was well lived in.
Looking around more you saw some magazines laying on the table, and all his pots and pans hanging on the kitchen wall. ‘That’s right… he can cook too. I wonder if I’ll be able to try it one day.’
“Sorry to keep you waiting,” his voice broke you out from your thoughts. “Here you go.” He handed the bottle of soju in a bag over to you with a smile. You smiled back at him.
“Thank you, Kato-san.” You peered into the bag, and saw how much he had actually given you. The bottle was huge! You thought it would be those 12-ounce bottles.
Your shock must have been visible since he asked you, “Do you not like the flavor I picked out?”
“No, no. That’s not it all. It’s just a lot of alcohol. Especially considering that I don’t think I’ll be able to drink all of this by myself.”
“Let’s open the bottle now then! It’ll be a lot less lonely if we drink it together. And I can see your reaction when you try it too!” He got himself excited thinking about it. “You can leave your shoes here, and wait for me at the table. I’ll bring some shot glasses and something to snack on as well.” He walked off towards his kitchen.
You checked the time on your phone, ‘Just one drink won’t hurt, would it?’ You thought as you bent down to take off your shoes, and left them neatly against the wall.
You walked to the table and sat down on the floor. Curious, you opened the bottle and took a whiff. It didn’t smell strongly of alcohol, it smelled more like something fruity. But you knew that was deceiving and wouldn’t want to drink too much of it.
Turning the bottle around, it revealed the sticker on the front that showed a picture of a strawberry. “So it’s strawberry flavored… hm…”
“Yeah,” Kato came back, placing a plate filled with snacks on the table, then put a shot glass in front of you and one in front of him. “Have you tried it before?”
“No. I don’t drink that much, so this will be my first time drinking soju too.” You gave the bottle to Kato, and allowed him to pour some into your cup. Once it was filled, you took the cup and waited for him to fill his own.
“Then I’m honored to share your first drink of soju. This stuff is really good.” After his cup was filled, he lifted the glass towards you, “For two years!”
“For two years!” You cheered after him and clicked your glasses together. You drank the liquid, and felt it run down your throat. It didn’t give you a burning sensation as other drinks do, and tasted pleasant. You could totally see yourself drinking more, but you knew that if you did you’d regret it the next day. “This tastes really good!”
“Right!?” He began to pour himself a second cup, “I usually don’t get this one for myself, but I figured you’d like it.” You were still on your first cup, you wanted to take it slow and savor it. You could always drink more another day. You could feel yourself start to loosen up with the alcohol in your system.
You continued talking with Kato, and saw him slowly start to lose his filter. You were right to not drink too much, he seemed like the type to handle his alcohol, but his face got flushed with each couple sips and his words began to slur together.
It was cute seeing his composer dissolve, since he’s always professional at work and took his job seriously. Getting to see this side of him was worth
“Ugh.. And don’t get me started on Kambe… He’s insufferable.” He mumbled into his glass as he drank more, “Thinks money is the answer to everything.” You guys somehow got onto the topic of your colleagues, giving your opinions on them and retelling stories about them that made both of you laugh.
Before he could rant more about Kambe, you interrupted him. “Can I ask you something, Kato-san?”
“Go ahead.”
“I’ve been thinking, we’ve worked together for a while. And we’re somewhat close, right?” He nodded along to what you were saying. “Can I call you by your first name?” He froze as you said that, and covered his face with his hand.
“Ah! Uhm…” His face grew hotter.
“I understand if that’s too much! It’s just that, the Chief calls you by your given name. You can call me by my first name too!”
He averted his eyes, “D-don’t… Don’t tease me like that…”
“What do you mean?”
“When you say stuff like that... It gives me hope.” He laid his head on the table, his cheek resting against the cool wood. “It makes me think that I’m not reading anything wrong… That you might like me back…”
“You like me!?” You asked, shocked. “I’m sure there are other people who are much better than me.”
“Tha-that’s not true! Not one… one bit! You are an amazing person!” He sat up in his seat, and used his hands to prop himself on the table. “You make me want to improve myself.. And do right by you…”
He leaned over the table, his face closing in on yours, close enough that you can smell the faint scent of alcohol from his breath. “There are too many reasons to list…”  With him directly in front of you, you could see how clouded he eyes looked from the liquor.
He brought his face in front of yours, and closed the remaining distance between your lips. His lips locked onto yours, and he pressed deeper into the kiss. Stunned by the abrupt kiss, your mind didn’t register what was happening until a couple seconds later.
“Wa-wait!” You shoved him off of you. He whined at the loss of contact, and breathed heavily as he regained his breath. “We shouldn’t be doing this! You’re drunk right now! I don’t want to take advantage of that.”
“Ah…” He touched his lips, “Your lips felt so soft…” The blush on his face intensified. Deciding that enough was enough, and that you wanted to stop anything further from happening, you stood up and went to his side.
“Haru.” You said sternly, your eyes strict, clearly showing you meant business.
“Y-yes!?”
“I think it’s time you went to bed.”
“Bed!?” His eyes widened. “(L/n)-san! Don’t you think this is going too fast!?”
“Not us. Just you. You’ll thank me later when you’re more sober.” You picked him up from under his arm and guided him to his bed, and gently laid him there. “Go to sleep.”
“Huh? But I’m … I’m not tired…” Knowing that was bullshit with the amount he drank, you humored him until he eventually fell into a drunken stupor.
You pulled out your phone and looked at the time, “It’s way too late to leave now…” You said to yourself. “I guess I can fix things up around here.” You checked on Kato again to make sure he was sleeping before you cleaned up the table and carefully stashed the strawberry soju, just in case he woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to drink more.
Once you finished clearing the table, you headed towards the kitchen. “Pardon the intrusion.” You looked in the cabinets to find a cup and to hopefully find a cloth of some sorts. After you found a cup, you filled it up with water and placed it on the table next to his bed.
“I still need to find something to put on his head…” You whispered to yourself, “The bathroom maybe? And I could probably find some painkillers as well.”
You opened the door to his bathroom, then opened the mirror cabinet that was above the sink. You ended up finding a bottle of Advils. ‘Jackpot.’ Twisting the cap open with a satisfying pop, you took out two gel pills. As you were putting everything back in its place, you caught sight of a hand towel laying on top of the rim of the bathtub.
You grabbed the towel too, so that you can use it to cool him down. Now back at his side again, you placed the two pills next to the glass of water, so when he woke up he’ll see it and take them.
With a sigh, you walked back into the kitchen and ran the hand towel under cold water. You yawned as you made it back to Kato, and gently sat the cool towel on his forehead. He was still knocked out, and lightly snored with every exhale.
Tired from everything that had happened today, you became drowsy, and watched as his chest rises and falls as he breathes. You eventually fell asleep, your head resting on his mattress.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunlight shined past the curtains and hit Kato directly in the face, “Ugh..” He groaned as he sat up. “My head is killing me…” He rubbed his face, trying to collect his thoughts from last night. His eyes then landed on you, your body was splayed across the floor next to his bed. “(L/n)-san...?”
He got out of his bed too fast, causing his blood to rush to his head and face plant onto the floor next to you. The thud of his body woke you up from your slumber. “Mmh…? You up yet, Kato-san?”
“You can say that…” He sat up straight on the floor, “My head hurts even more now…”
“Oh,” you peeled yourself off the floor and picked up the water and pills, “here.”
“Thank you,” he quickly popped the pills into his mouth and drank the water.
“You probably won’t feel better for another hour or so... “
“It’s fine…”
You shuffled in your spot, feeling awkward by what had taken place the night before. “Uhm… Kato-san, can I borrow your kitchen? I can make you something to help with your hangover.”
“Hangover…? That’s right, we drank together didn’t we?”
“Mhm,” you agreed. “You more so than me though.” You stood up and walked over to the kitchen, opening the fridge to see what you could make.
“What do you mean?”
Choosing to at least spare him of the embarrassment, you left some of the truth out. “You got really drunk, and started ranting about our co-workers.”
“I- I didn’t say anything weird, did I?” He asked you worriedly.
You pretended to think about it, “Hm...No. I don’t think so.” You took out a few ingredients before you spoke again. “You can go take a bath while I cook. You wouldn’t want to show up to work smelling like alcohol.”
“Right… I’ll go wash up.”
He left his spot and headed towards the bathroom. After he left, you let out a deep breath. “Ahhh!” You covered your face with your hands, “How am I supposed to face Kato-san now!?” You graced your bottom lip with your finger, “His lips… were soft too… But I can’t tell him about that! I’d die due to humiliation!”
While you were contemplating on what to do, you failed to notice the footsteps closing in on you. “(L/n)-san?”
Startled by his voice, you jumped. “K-kato-san! What are you doing?”
“Oh, I forgot to take my clothes with me,” he gestured by shaking them in his hand, “and I wanted to make sure you were able to find what you needed.”
“Yeah, I found what I needed. Thank you for checking in on me.” He went back into the bathroom, and you heard the sound of the water running follow after. “I can’t make it obvious, or he’ll catch on. He’s really good at reading people. All I can do now is finish cooking breakfast, head to work, and throw myself into the void, to never be seen again.”
A few minutes later, Kato came out of the bath with a towel around his neck, his hair was still dripping. “You were right, (L/n)-san. I did thank you later.”
You glanced over to him, “See, I told you so.” You arranged the food neatly on the plate and placed it on the table.
He put his hands together, “Thanks for the food!”
You repeated after him, “Thanks for the food.”
Kato took a few bites of the food and smiled at the taste, “This is really good! You really are an amazing person.” You dropped your food as he said that. ‘Shit, he knew. He had to have known.’
“Umm… Kato-san… I-”
“I hope you know I really meant it, even if I was drunk. And what happened about calling me Haru,” he smirked at you, “(Y/n).”
“H-haru…” You tested his name out, still nervous about everything that’s happening. “I think you’re an amazing person too…”
“Glad we’re on the same page now. Let’s finish the food before it gets too cold, I wouldn’t want to put your cooking to waste.”

Duncan laid in bed in his birthday suit, an arm behind his head. Laid with his head against Duncan's chest was Jim, also in his birthday suit. The two snuggled closely together, barely paying attention to the horror movie that was on the TV in front of them. Duncan with his free hand, scrolled through his Twitter feed, Jim occasionally glancing between his phone and the TV.
Marijuana smoke created a thick haze in their master bedroom, the smell calming for both of them. Today was a rough day, for the both of them. And for rough days, there was the nightly hotbox. It consisted of just Jim and Duncan, bare. No exceptions. They'd smoke until they were high off their asses or their lungs tapped out. Snacks and drinks were kept nearby for when the munchies struck.
The rules were simple. There were none. The only thing that could save them from each other's wrath in the hotbox was their safe word "Indica". Aside from their safe word, they could be as ruthless as they wanted to be, as they needed to be. Degrading names, within reason of course, rougher play than what Duncan usually brings to the bedroom. His chest was covered in purple and red bruises and scratches from when him and Jim first laid down. Jim was beyond agitated when he got home and it caught Duncan off guard when he had busted through the front door almost knocking the pictures off the walls.
It wasn't all rough play during this time, however. Sometimes their sweetest and most vulnerable sides came out and they'd make love to each other, slowly, round after round after round until one of them were to sleepy to continue. It was usually Duncan.
"Hotbox?" Duncan questioned as Jim stormed passed him
"Hotbox." Jim responded through a clenched jaw, quickly glancing back at Duncan.
And while Duncan had had his own frustrations with work today, it didn't cause him to come home the way Jim did and he automatically knew that he was Jim's for the night. That was a battle he knew he wasn't going to win. Although the roles were clearly defined, Duncan has subbed for Jim a couple of times. In fact, Jim is his first partner that he's ever switched for and he enjoyed it. Sometimes age really was just a number. Jim always fucked Duncan with the stamina he had in his younger years. Rough, fast, and sloppy, it made him a mess underneath Jim every time and that's how the both of them learned that Duncan was really vocal in the bedroom.
Tired of laying around, Jim got up suddenly, firmly pushing his hands into Duncan's chest as leverage, causing him to grunt. He watched as Jim walked across the room, bare-assed. He picked up the leftover joint they had tapped out on, placing it between his lips before reaching for a lighter and lighting it. He casually walked into their walk-in closet, grabbing one of his favorite ties that Duncan wore before walking back over to the bed. He snatched Duncan's phone out of his hand, tossing it wherever.
"Put this on." he said, throwing his tie at him and snatching the sheets off of him. "Lay the other way. Spread for me. Can you do that for me, Mr. Shepherd?"
Duncan nodded, quickly putting his tie on, tightening it just the way Jim liked around his neck, causing Jim to grin. One knee on the bed, he set himself comfortably between Duncan's legs, joint still hanging from his lips as he exhaled. He briefly removed it to lick his hand, grabbing and squeezing Duncan's length. Duncan sighed at the sudden contact of Jim's warm and wet hand, throwing one of his arms behind his head again.
"I swear you fucking trust-fund babies." Jim spat as he stroked Duncan at a painfully slow pace, still squeezing him. Duncan began chewing on his bottom lip, knowing what was coming next. To see his sweet ocean eyes be so condescending was more than a turn on. "Think your so fucking entitled to shit just because you have a little bit of money?"
"A little bit of money?" Duncan managed to get out between his heavy breaths, a small laugh behind his tone. Before Duncan could even take his next breath, Jim had has hand wrapped underneath Duncan's jaw, fingers digging in just a little bit to create that pressure that drove Duncan insane even though it made him mostly light headed. It forced his vision to just focus directly on Jim, ignoring all the other surroundings in the room.
"I didn't say you could speak, now did I?" Jim questioned, squeezing a bit harder.
"N-no." Duncan struggled to get out, lust in his hazy eyes. "But it's funny that you think that-," Jim's palm was already against the side of Duncan's cheek before Duncan could even finish his sentence.
"Always seeking a challenge huh?" Jim questioned again amused, letting up and going back to stroking Duncan painfully slow but with a menacing pressure. "Talk so damn much, so controlling, but you just want someone to fill both of your holes? Isn't that right?" With every word that Jim spoke, Duncan twitched in his hand, chest rising and falling rapidly. Jim picked up the pace quickly watching as Duncan threw his head back, biting down on his lip hard, a series of loud moans escaping from his mouth.
"Don't have any answers for me now do you, huh?" Jim mocked, rubbing at his own length. "Sigh. You fuck-faces never have an answer to anything. Maybe I should go around not giving answers too. I'll just swing my dick around, giving out stupid little flashy smiles, holding fake conversations so people like me better. Just like a little bitch." Duncan squirmed underneath Jim, thrusting upwards to meet Jim's frantic and wild pace. He could barely hang on with how soaked Duncan was from his spit-slicked hand and his own pre-cum. Surprisingly Duncan didn't last long with Jim 'chewing' him out like that.
"Pathetic." Jim said as he stroked Duncan out, watching as his cum painted his stomach and chest, Duncan moaning Jim's name with every squirt. Jim grabbed the end of Duncan's tie, using all of his strength to pull him up from the bed and closer to him.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." Duncan mumbled, still a horny mess as he looked him right in his eyes. He was practically begging for Jim through his fake "I'm sorry".
"I'm gonna show you just how sorry you can really be." He tightened Duncan's tie even tighter before pushing him back down on the bed and climbing over him. This was just the beginning of their night in The Hotbox.
But where was all this coming from? Despite Duncan letting Jim know that he didn't have to work and that he would always be taken care of, Jim still persisted, wanting something to do during the day. So he took up a part time job as customer service rep at a t-shirt shop on the board walk, owned by a friend's family. Jim loved his job to put it simply. And his boss and fellow co-workers loved him. He was a positive influence around the shop. Extremely friendly and optimistic, he kept everyone laughing and boosted morale. A master at the art of platonic flirting, most days he's stand outside the shop, with his shirt off or in one of the store branded tank-tops. He didn't even have to say much. People flocked to him naturally, drawn in not only by looks but his gentle persona.
He became a favorite around the boardwalk. Often people would stop to take pictures with him and he quickly became the social media ambassador for the shop's Instagram page. Duncan was also a favorite in the shop, sporting some of the graphic tees that they had to offer. On the days he would pick Jim up from work, they would almost always leave an hour after Jim was off, caught up in good conversation with the store manager or the store owner, his arm wrapped around Jim as he spoke.
But there was just this one guy Jim didn't get along with. Max. A super well-known rich kid, for all the wrong reasons, he got on Jim's nerves anytime the two worked together. Overly confident, overly cocky, but yet so fucking lazy barely helping out around the store or picking and choosing his tasks. He always got off easy, his parents having countless amounts of money to get their sweet baby boy out of trouble. It drove Jim insane. Today at work they had gotten into it real bad, throwing insults back and forth, almost resulting in an actual fist fight, broken up by Jim's close friend who also happened to work with him. By the time his left he was so heated and was missing Duncan extra this evening, so he was relieved when Duncan immediately offered the Hotbox when he entered the house.
Jim fucked Duncan relentlessly against every surface in their bedroom, not letting up at all, taking pleasure from hearing Duncan's bitchy whines and moans as he stretched him out thrust after thrust. The both of them now covered chest to abdomen in purple and red bruises. Duncan scratched and clawed at Jim, leaving hickeys wherever he could, which sadly meant that Jim couldn't have his shirt off at work tomorrow. The scratches down the side of his arms and back were easier to explain, so a tank top would have to do. With Duncan it was free reign, considering the dress code for his work office. He didn't care if they were visible on his neck, he showed them off proudly. Already an established man in life, he had no fears about his future.
"You know I didn't mean all that shit I said tonight right?" Jim asked, looking back at Duncan as they sat together in their bath. Duncan had his head rested against the wall, glass of whiskey on ice in his hand, staring back at Jim.
"I know." Duncan chuckled. "Trust me, I know, but it was so damn sexy hearing you say it because well you're not wrong." He wrapped his free hand that rested on the side of the tub around Jim, holding him close.
"Plus, I didn't really have any one to put me in my place during my younger years." he winked. "Also was a bit condescending and entitled, but hey, it got me ass left and right."
"You're terrible." Jim laughed, pressing a kiss to the side of Duncan's jaw. "Cute, but terrible. And you want to know the sad part? I'd probably be right there in your lineup."
"I wouldn't let you be. You're not like everyone else, ocean eyes. You mean the world to me and I wouldn't forgive myself if I just tossed you to the side."
"I love you s'much, Dunc."
"But I mean if you're willing to give up that a-,"
"Shut up and kiss me."
"Yes, sir."

In Another Universe Chapter: 3
(tsc and the characters belong to Cassandra Clare and some of the quotes)
Jayce had to carry Clar the rest of the way to the Institute, he's lucky she is strong, though Jayce has become aware that he is taller than her.
When she got back to the Institute, Alec made a big deal about it and totally flipped, Jayce had put a rune on Clar and knew she would get stuff for it later but the thing is Clar took the rune just fine.
——————
When Clar woke, he looked around and saw he was in an infirmary type room
"Ah, he's alive," said a voice from another bed
Clar looked over to where the voice came from and saw it was the dark haired boy that was with Jayce and the dark haired girl, Isidore was his name Clar was sure.
"Where am I?"
"At the Institute, Jayce brought you here, we thought you might die," he said
"How long was asleep for?"
"A day, that's normal though with demon poison," Isidore said
Clar wanted to doubt the demon poison thing but after last night he didn't know what to think anymore, his mom and sister are gone, probably kidnapped and he's alone with strangers he doesn't even know.
"Hodge said for you to drink that there once you woke up," said Isidore. "After you drink that, there are clothes of mine there you can change into, I am gonna get Hodge."
Clar drank the drink which wasn't terrible, and got up to change
"Oh, and wash up you don't smell so great," Isidore told him as he was walking out of the room
He rolled his eyes, cleaned up a little and got changed, after he changed instead of waiting for Isidore to come back he decided to go off on his own
He walked down the halls, and heard music from a room, he went toward the room and saw Jayce sitting on the bench playing the piano, she was actually good
"Alec? Is that you?" Called Jayce
He walked more into view and said "No it's me."
"Oh, sleeping beauty is awake," she said. "I should have told Isidore about your habit of never staying put."
"Really?"
"Really what?" She said. "I'll take you to Hodge come on."
They walked out of the room and down another hall, this place had so many halls, it kinda looked like an old church though.
They made a turn and Jayce walked up to a door and opened it, she gestured for him to come in, when Clar walked in haw let his jaw drop a little, it was a library and there were so many books.
"A fellow reader," said the voice of a man sitting at the desk in the library.
"Yes," was all he said, still shocked at all the books and how old some of them looked.
"This Clar Fray," Jayce said.
"Nice to meet you," said Hodge and gave a smile
"Nice to meet you as well," he said.
*I heard you fought off a demon," Hodge said
"Not exactly," he replied
"Please, you don't actually believe he fought off a demon, he's just a mundane," said the raven haired girl called Alec from one of the chairs in the library. "He's just a kid from new jersey."
He didn't even notice her till now
"I'm from Brooklyn and I am not a kid!" Clar said. "And are you so stuck up and spoiled that you act like you are better than everyone else."
Alec looked shocked, Jayce let out a laugh
"It's not funny Jayce!" Alec hissed
"It's a little funny, besides it'll do you some good," she said.
"Enough," said Hodge, he seemed like a teacher scolding his class. "So, Jayce says you aren't a Mundane but you aren't a Downworlder either."
He looked to be thinking.
"She's a Shadowhunter," Jayce said.
And everyone looked at her, even Clar was surprised at that.
"How can you be sure?" Asked Hodge
"Because last night he got hurt by a demon and I put a rune on him," she said
Alec looked appalled
"Jayce Wayland! You know the law and what putting on rune on those who can't bear them will do, they'll go mad!" Said Hodge.
"yeah, I know but here's the thing, look," Jayce shower them where the bandage on Clar's arm was and took it off, to here was indeed and rune there but it was faded. "See he took it and it healed him."
Hodge looked shocked now and Alec slightly less shocked and more annoyed.
"Clar was your mother a Shadowhunter?" Asked Hodge
"What! No! My mother would never be someone like that, she doesn't even like books and shows with magic in them," he said
"Your father?" Asked Jayce
"He died before I was born," Clar answers
Jayce flinched
"Well it's possible he could have been a Shadowhunter," Alec added
Clar didn't know what to think and he felt lost, he should call Luke tell him what happened.
"Can I call someone I know?" He asked
"Of course," Hodge said
He showed him to a phone on the desk and he dialed Luke's number, it rang a few times and he picked up
"Hello," he said from the other end
"Luke, it's Clar."
"Clar! Are you okay?" He asked
"Yeah, do you know what happened to mom? She's gone Luke and so is Joan and—"
"Listen Clar, I am glad you are alright but whatever your mother has gotten herself into doesn't concern me," he said and hung up
Clar stood there in shock, Luke was never like that, why would he be so cold?
Clar felt his emotions getting to him and felt like crying, though he knew he would be judged for that, honestly why is he like this
"Jayce and Alec, leave, I want to talk to Clar alone," said Hodge
"Come on Jayce," said Alec grabbing Jayce's arm on the way out
"But I found him," Jayce was protesting
"It's not finders keepers Jayce," Alec said
And they were gone, Clar was alone with Hodge
"I don't usually get this emotional," Clar said
"It's alright, you've had a stressful couple of days," Hodge said
They talked over some things and Clar asked, "Can I go back home and get a few things?"
Hodge looked hesitant for a moment and said "Only if Jayce agrees to go with you."
He nodded
——————
Jayce so happened to agree to go with him, Clar thought she may have been a cat in another lifetime, she was so strange at times.
Now they were heading to Clar's apartment and Jayce was in all gear and had many weapons, Clar wondered if she had some hidden somewhere as well, she seems like the type to have them hidden in many places.
They were walking down the sidewalk and ar noticed some boys staring at Jayce and obviously making comments about her looks, she was glamoured now, and she obviously knew too which only made it more irritating
"Those boys are staring at you," he said
He noticed the girl in their group was also staring at Jayce similarly
"Of course they are, I am stunningly attractive," she said
"God, you're impossible," he said
She just laughed
He wondered what it was like to be that confident in yourself, and that arrogant, did she ever have any doubts? Or was she simply just like this and always sure?
Clar realized he was now analyzing her and wondered why she interested him so much, he had never be interested in people like her before usually her and Simone just avoided people like her, but somehow Clar felt at moments maybe there was more to her, and she did save his life.
"So you have a lot of weapons," he said
"Yes, yes I do," she replied
"I bet they are worth a lot, could probably fetch a good price on ebay," he said
"I don't know what or who this ebay is but do not go anywhere near my weapons or I will exact vengeance," she said
"Geez it was a joke, you act like they are you kids or something."
"I have a close relationship with my weapons, they make good friends," she said with that sarcasm
They talked and argued some more before they got to the apartment, honestly Clar doesn't know how he put up with her, he reminded himself he technically owed her
Before they went in Jayce pulled out her sensor and scanned the area, it was odd, all this Shadowhunter stuff
They went in and looked around, Clar went to his bedroom, the orange walls that were familiar, it's funny he thought that that one day can totally flip your world around
Jayce wasn't far behind him, they both heard something, and then there was a big guy weird zombie kinda looking guy, he was huge and Jayce yelled run
They got to the stairs but the thing was just as fast if not maybe a bit faster
"What is that!" Yelled Clar
"A forsaken!," Jayce replied
The forsaken caught up and Jayce swore under her breath, she pulled out one of her blades and called "Jophiel!."
The blade lit up and it was beautiful, Clar had to admit, and she was beautiful in that moment he thought, until she stumbled down the stairs with the thing and Clar may have let out a slight scream.
Clar ran over to Jayce, she was still alive
"Are you ok?" He asked
"Yeah, I broke my arm though."
"What do I do?"
"Watch," said Jayce, she pulled out her stele and drew on her arm, and Clar watched Jayce's arm heal. "We heal ourselves this way."
"Whoa," was all Clar said
She laughed and he glared at her
"I hope you are planning to clean that up, Shadowhunter," said a woman's voice
They both turned their heads in the direction of the voice
"Uhh..." Clar said
Jayce was just staring suspiciously
"How do you know about Shadowhunters?" Jayce asked.
"Jayce this is Madame Dorothea, She's the older lady that lives here as well," Clar told her.
"Oh, I know who you are Jayce Wayland," said Dorothea.
"She knows your name..." Clar said
"Yeah, can't say I like that," Jayce admitted
"Come in, we can talk," Dorothea said.
"There may be more forsaken," Jayce said. "So might as well go inside."
They went in.
——————
Jayce didn't trust this Dorothea at all, she claimed to be a witch but almost all who did were fake and liars, and there was something about her that didn't settle right with Jayce.
"I'll make some tea and bring some snacks," said Dorothea
Jayce was looking around, looking for anything unusual
"Why are you suspicious of everyone?" Asked Clar
"Not everyone just people that seem to be suspicious," she said. "Like say people who happen to know my name, who I didn't tell it to."
He sighed, he was good at that Jayce thought to herself
There was a bird hanging on a string from the ceiling, it made Jayce think back to when she was a child for a minute.
Dorothea came back into the room, Jayce sat down next to Clar, she noticed that it was early gray tea and cucumber sandwiches, she hated both, Bergamot was something she disliked so
"Earl gray tea, hmm, I dislike Bergamot very much," she said. "And cucumber I also dislike."
Clar looked at her weirdly
"What?" She asked
"Nothing it's just I didn'tt think 17 year old girls like you knew what Bergamot was," he said
There he went again "girls like you" like he knew her, like he knew anything about her
"You'd be surprised at all I know," she said
"So why did you come back child?" Dorothea asked Clar
"Do you know what happened to my mom? You were here that night right?" Clar sounded desperate
Jayce felt sympathy for him, she never felt like this for people really and it made her angry for some reason, at least she thinks it's anger.
Dorothea had Clar play with Cards and what not, Jayce wasn't really interested in that, but she listened in when she asked Clar to remember something and he couldn't and Dorothea said something about a memory block.
"I knew what Jocelyn was and she knew what I was, and I don't exactly know who took her," she said. "There was a name she told me to keep am ear out for, Valentine."
Jayce snapped back to full attention
Clar looked like he didn't know what she was talking about exactly
"What? Why would she want you to keep an ear out for his name?" Clar said
"Jocelyn was one of you in her past," said Dorothea. "She fled the Shadowhunter world after the uprising and disappeared trying to live life as a Mundane, trying to give her children a mundane life."
"Why didn't she tell me?" Clar asked
"She wanted to protect you and your sister, we had a deal, I keep an ear out for the name Valentine and she didn't say anything about my business and she did the occasional favors fore," Dorothea said
"So you're saying you do illegal stuff?" Jayce asked her
"And if I do Shadowhunter," she hissed
"Jayce stop," Clar said
"There's something you aren't telling us," Jayce said. "You let Downworlder criminals get away."
"You and kind would call them criminals, but maybe you should think out of the box a bit more, and see that your law is too harsh," said Dorothea.
"Sed lex dura lex," said Jayce. "The law is hard, but it is the law."
"The law is too hard Shadowhunter."
They argued more and Jayce went over to the strange curtain she saw earlier, and pulled it open "So than this is a portal," she said.
Dorothea looked angry she had figured it out
"This is how Downworlders escaped," Jayce said. "Through this portal."
"It's a five dimensional door," said Dorothea.
Clar got up and walked to it, he looked at it for a few moments, and
"That's why you mother wanted to live here so she could always escape if she needed to," said Jayce.
"Then why didn't she—" Clar broke off. "Cause of me, she wasn't going Without me."
Clar walked towards the portal
"I want to see where she would have gone," Clar said
Jayce had barely anytime to react
"Clar no!," She called
She grabbed his arm and they were falling through a portal, Usually there are the moments Jayce asks herself why she doesn't just leave people to their own doom?, but it was different with Clar.

Heather
Based on Heather by Conan Gray
Word count- 2126
Warnings: insecurities, angst towards the end, some body dysmorphia
Y/n: your name
Y/n/n: your nickname
Y/f/b: your favorite band
"I still remember, third of December me in your sweater."
Y/N looked at herself in the mirror, pulling the long sleeves around your fists, clenching the fabric in your hands. JJ walked up behind you, easily wrapping his arms around your waist, pulling you close to his body.
JJ grinned at your reflection, chuckling as he saw your face glow a light pink. He released you and plopped himself on his bed. "I've been saving up all year to buy you something for Christmas." He brought up, sending the butterflies on a rampage in your stomach.
"JJ I told you you don't need to get me anything."
You said it looked better on me, than it did you. Only if you knew how much I liked you.
JJ slapped the spot next to him, waiting for you to join him. You shuffled over to him and laid next to him, him arm resting underneath the crook of your neck, his finger tips playing with the ends of your hair.
"You know you look really cute in my sweater. It looks way better on you than me." He complimented you, making your heartbeat start to speed up. "Shut up." You easily got flustered at his kindness.
Your eyes fluttered shut as you relaxed into his touch. You have known JJ since kindergarten and have been best friends ever since you shared your animal crackers with him.
As years went by, you began to develop feelings for your fellow Pogue. It would start with you blushing whenever he complimented you. Then your heart would race whenever he would hold your hand or hug you. To staring at his lips wondering what they would feel like against yours.
But I watch your eyes, as she walks by. What a sight for sore eyes brighter than a blue sky. She's got you mesmerized, while I die.
Y/n enjoyed the free food Mr. Carrara gave out to the Pogues after Kie had begged him. No one had actually eaten an actual meal in the last week. You and JJ were currently throwing French fries into each others mouths, horribly missing.
JJ loaded a fry in his fingers about to throw it, only to catch the eyes of a beautiful girl who walked by them. His jaw just barely fell open, his eyes following the girl as she walked by. You turned around to see what he was looking at, only to feel your self confidence drop down about 50 levels.
"Wow." He whispered to himself. "Yeah... wow." You repeated, fiddling with your fingers. "I'll be right back y/n/n." And with that JJ got up, leaving you with the rest of your friends.
Why would you ever kiss me? I'm not even half, as pretty. You gave her your sweater, it's just polyester, but you like her better. Wish I were Heather
You and the Pogues decided to get together at John B's Chateau to just hang out. You were helping Pope set up the snacks in bowls and plates. Kie was setting up blankets and pillows on the floor. John B was stashing the bottles of alcohol in the fridge.
Everything was going beautifully until JJ walked into the house with the brunette girl under his arm. For a moment your heart stopped as you took in the sight of her wearing his sweater you wore earlier that day. "Guys, this is Heather. Heather this is John B, Kiara, Pope, and Y/N." JJ pointed out his friends to the new girl.
Heather grinned brightly, saying hello to everyone. The group collectively welcomed her, Kie's eyes quickly looking at you. "Excuse me, Pope." You flashed a fake grin before walking into the bathroom.
You stared at yourself in the mirror, your finger tips lightly skimming the features on your face. Running you hands through your hair, you remembered the image of the girl in your head. You compared yourself to her in everyway you could.
You noticed how big of a thigh gap she had, and how you didn't have one. How she had a waistline that one could be jealous of. You looked at your stomach, and although it was flat, your mind pictured fat rolls hanging out.
A soft knock drew you out of your thoughts. Without even realizing it, you were crying. You opened the door to see Kie with a concerned look on her face. "Oh baby." She mumbled, entering the bathroom, opening her arms to give you a hug. She was the first person you talked to when you realized you caught feelings for your best friend.
"I have no right to be jealous, Kie. I shouldn't feel like this, but I do and I hate it." You sobbed into her chest, hating yourself to getting to attached to him.
Watch as she stands with, her holding your hand. Put your arm 'round her shoulder, now I'm getting colder.
Kie stood with you in the bathroom, helping you calm down before walking back out to the rest of the group. "Everything good?" John B asked, knowing that it wasn't by the sight of your red nose.
"Yeah, yeah Kie was just helping me with something." You lied, grabbing a beer, then sitting in a chair. You crossed your legs, swirling your drink in your hand. Taking a swig of the alcohol you locked your sight on the new couple.
Your harsh glare softened as you saw just how big JJ's smile was. You watched as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, intertwining their fingers together. Heather rested he head on his chest, JJ pecking her forehead.
Your heart clenched, tucking your body further into your sweatshirt, ignoring the cold breeze that shuffled through the air.
But how could I hate her? She's such an angel, but then again, kinda wish she were dead.
You stood up from your chair, walking past the couple and into the kitchen. You grabbed another beer, turning around only to bump into Heather.
"I am so sorry!" You quickly apologized, glad that your drink still had the cap on. "Oh my God, no it's okay!" She took a look at you, your insecurities starting to feel very visible. "This is totally random but you're literally so pretty! And I love your sweatshirt!" She complimented you, your eyes looking at your y/f/b sweatshirt.
"Oh thank you! I've loved this band since JJ introduced me to them." Heather grinned, her cheeks instantly turning pink at the sound of his name. "We should definitely hang out one day and listen to them together." She offered the idea. "Yeah! Yeah of course." You lied, handing her the drink she wanted.
You excused yourself outside, telling John B your mother had called you and you had to talk to her. You walked out into the cold, walking over to the hammock where you and JJ shared your first kiss.
It was freshman year of high school, the night of the homecoming dance. A boy named Kevin Richards asked you to be his date to the dance. You had gotten ready at John B's house since your house was being redone after a hurricane struck the OBX.
Dressed in a maroon silk dress with matching high heels, you waited for the boy to show up. All your friends asking if you wanted them to wait with you. You quickly shook your head, shooting them off to the dance.
Looking at the clock, 5 minutes turned into 10, 10 turned to 20, and 20 turned into an hour. You felt defeated, embarrassed, hurt, annoyed, and sad. Taking the heels off, you let out an angry shriek, throwing the heels out the door and into the backyard.
Meanwhile JJ was in his room, his ears perking up at the sound. Checking the clock, he thought you would've been at the dance by now. He walked into the living room, his eyes catching the outline of your silhouette sitting in the hammock.
He walked towards you, plopping himself in the seat next to you. "I thought you'd be at the dance by now." He said, watching you shift uncomfortably. "Kevin stood me up." You mumbled, picking the nail polish off of your finger nails.
JJ clenched his jaw in anger at your words. "It's his fucking loss. I swear I'm gonna fight him my foot is gonna go all the way up his ass. I'm so sorry, you look... you look beautiful y/n/n." You turned your head towards him to see him already looking at you.
He slowly leaned in, capturing your lips in his in a soft kiss. Your face quickly felt like it was on fire as he cupped the side of your face, stroking your cheekbone with the pad of his thumb.
You wanted to hate Heather. You wanted to despise her for being a horrible person, but in reality she was one of the sweetest people you've ever met, only frustrating you even more. You took a swig of your drink, the sound of footsteps coming up behind you.
As she walks by, what a sight for sore eyes. Brighter than a blue sky, she's got you mesmerized, while I die.
You lit a spare blunt JJ had hidden under the hammock pillow, inhaling the smoke before slowly relaxing. All you could think about was how happy he looked when he was with her. You wanted him to look at you like that, at one point you were convinced he looked at you like that.
But now things are different. And there was nothing you could do about it. You couldn't tell him how you felt, knowing how shitty that would be to put pressure on him. You don't want him to think you're making him pick. You just had to deal with it.
JJ appeared from behind you, making himself comfortable as he sat down next to you. "Why aren't you in there?" He asked, taking the blunt from your hand. "I got a call from my mom but then she just stressed me out so..." you lied, pointing to the weed.
He nodded his head, "so what do you think of Heather?" Your eyes widened as his sudden question. You bit your lip, holding in what you really wanted to say. "I think she's really lucky to have a guy like you. It's nice seeing you this happy" You smiled softly.
JJ pulled you into a tight hug, holding the blunt away from your hair. "You're the best." He grinned, pulling away. He handed you the blunt back, giving you a peck on your forehead before walking away.
Only he didn't walk all the way back inside. He could tell you were lying he knows you like the back of his hand. He could see your broken spirit through your eyes. He bit his tongue as he walked towards you again.
"You don't like her." He accused as he stood in front of you. You furrowed your eyebrows, coughing on the smoke. "I do, though."
"Then why do you look like you're about to cry? Hmm? Why did you disappear with Kie after I introduced her to you guys?" He asked, pacing back and forth.
Why would you ever kiss me? I'm not even half, as pretty. You gave her your sweater, it's just polyester, but you like her better. I wish I were Heather.
"I don't know what you expect me to say." You mumbled, standing up to face him. "The truth!" He raised his voice.
"You tell me the truth! Why did you kiss me the night of homecoming?" You yelled back, your arms crossing across your chest. He wrinkled his eyebrows together, "what?"
"Did you pity me? Did you feel guilty that I got stood up? Did you like me? Or did you just want to take my mind off things?" You integrated him. "What does that have to do with anything?" JJ was street smart, but sometimes completely oblivious.
"Because I don't understand why you would ever kiss me!" You started, JJ's stare immediately softening. "I'm not even half as pretty as Heather. She's... she's flawless. She has such a kind and good heart. And I hate that. I want to hate her but I can't." You admitted, biting your tongue.
"And seeing her walk in with the sweater I was wearing earlier today just felt like I was bitch slapped by the harsh truth. All I could think was, 'god, I wish I were Heather right now."
"It's just polyester y/n/n." His voice softened, stepping towards you. You instinctively backed away from him. "But you like her better..." you trailed off. He felt his heart shatter, watching and listening you admit these feelings.
JJ was left speechless, standing in his spot he didn't know what to say or do. "Goodnight, JJ." You mumbled before taking your alcohol and walking back inside.

Katolis Supermarket, 5:31 PM
“Who wrote this list?” Rayla complained loudly, stalking behind Callum at the grocery store, shaking the piece of paper in his face. Her fellow sophomore was pushing a cart around, eternally focused on the task ahead.
“Well, Claudia suggested it, but everyone else added on,” Callum replied, not even looking at her. Stopping in the middle of the isle, he grabbed a 12-pack of soda and loaded it in the cart. “What’s next?”
Looking over the extensive list again, Rayla frowned. “Uh, it says… ‘those little animal cookie things with sprinkles, you know the ones’.”
Callum finally turned to look at her, a wide grin on his face as they both said “Soren,” in unison.
“Jinx,” Rayla giggled, “You owe me a soda.”
“Okay… just take one from the pack when we get home?”
Both teenagers continued through the store, Rayla getting bored of walking and hanging off the front of the cart, laughing as Callum made a big deal of struggling to push them around.
She supposed they should be hurrying. Evening was approaching quickly, and soon all their friends would be over at Callum’s place to study. Callum had dragged her off to the grocery store to get snacks for their cram session, considering she lived only a street over and had a car.
“We’re all going to be sick by the end of the night,” Rayla sighed, loading more snacks into the cart.
“Well, at least we’ll be awake,” Callum, ever cheerful, turned his head around to grin at her.
At his smile, Rayla felt her heart give a small wayward flutter, though she squished it down quickly. Tonight was important; she needed to pass this test to keep her grade up, and it wouldn’t help if she spent the entire night mulling over how cute her best friend’s smile looked.
“Yeah,” She chuckled, trying to pull herself back to the present. Keep it together, Rayla.
They got their unhealthy amount of junk food, collectively winced at the price, bought it anyway, and set about loading it in the backseat of Rayla’s car.
In no time at all Rayla was driving, Callum reclining in the passenger seat. With the radio cranked up, neither felt the need to talk, content to sit in the comfortable silence.
It was hard to believe that they’d been friends for eight years now. Rayla could still remember the first time they met like it was yesterday.
She was eight years old, in second grade, having just moved to a new school after her parents left on a military tour and she went to live with her uncles. Her first day of school had gone off without a hitch.
That is, until she met Callum at recess.
Content to play by herself, Rayla had been making use of the free time by pretending to build a fort under the slide. While pretending to hammer in nails, she noticed a small group of kids nearby. Two boys and a girl.
While she couldn’t make out all the words, the body language she saw was more than enough. The bigger boy, a head of blond hair, was pointing at the smaller, brown-haired boy, and laughing. The girl, black hair tied in two pigtail braids, was looking between them, unsure of what to do.
Curious eight-year-old Rayla snuck up, for she’d always been good at sneaking, and listened in on the conversation.
“Soren, shut up, he’s going to cry!” The girl said.
“Oh, so little Callum’s a crybaby now?” The boy, Soren, taunted.
“I’m not a crybaby, Soren!” The other boy shouted, though he couldn’t hide the sniffle at the end of his sentence.
“Oooh, Callum’s crying! Who’s gonna help him, his dad? Oh wait-”
Soren didn’t get to finish his sentence.
Well, she thought as she sat in the principal’s office twenty minutes later, Runaan will be happy to know that I’m learning something in my karate class.
All four kids were in the office, sitting in chairs in front of the desk. Callum and the other girl, Claudia, were both still sniffling from residual tears. Soren, fresh from the nurse’s office, was holding an ice pack over a rapidly blackening eye.
The door opened, and in came the principal, shaking her head with a sigh.
“You three again?”
“We didn’t do anything!” Soren shouted, voice whistling through the new gap in his teeth. Oh yeah, she’d knocked a tooth out as well. “She started it!”
“Well you were being really mean to that other kid!” Rayla protested. She and Soren glared at each other from their respective chairs, accusatory fingers pointed straight out.
“I wasn’t being mean, I was just joking!” Soren explained, “Callum’s my friend!”
“Well Soren, what you said was really mean-” Claudia interjected, but the boy, who Rayla had learned was her brother, interrupted.
“Callum, you know I was joking, right?”
“Well…” Soren’s face fell as Callum dropped his gaze to his lap. “It did kind of hurt my feelings, Soren…”
“Wait, you’re friends?” Rayla exclaimed, glancing curiously between both boys. “I thought he was bullying you! And my parents and uncles always said you have to stand up to bullies and-”
“I’m not a bully!” Soren shouted. Voices began to rise between them again, and the principal was forced to interject.
“All of you, quiet down. I’m going to talk with you each individually, and we’ll see what happens then. Callum, come with me. The rest of you: play nice.”
In the end, Rayla got suspended for two days for fighting, and Soren got one day for bullying. Despite the massive lecture Runaan and Ethari subjected her to, Rayla couldn’t help but feel like she’d done the right thing in the end.
When she returned to school, she was surprised to find Callum approach her at recess, a little paper bag clutched shyly in his hands.
“Sorry my friends and I got you in trouble,” He said, passing the bag to her. Opening it, Rayla’s face split into a huge grin at the sight of two tart-things waiting for her, filled with jelly.
“Soren’s usually pretty nice,” Callum continued, “But he doesn’t know when to stop talking. If you hadn’t stepped in, he would have said something mean without thinking, I’m sure. So you kind of helped both of us, in a way.”
“Oh. Well, you’re welcome, I guess. And thanks for the tarts.”
She was about to turn away and enjoy her spoils, but then Callum kept talking.
“Do you want to come play with us? Me and Claudia are pretending to do magic, and Soren’s a knight. You can do magic with us, if you want.”
Well, this game was certainly right up her alley. “I’ll play,” Rayla conceded, “But only if I get to be an elf.”
Callum grinned broadly, pointing to where the two siblings were playing. “Of course.”
~~~~
“The snacks are here!” Rayla called into the house, arms laden with shopping bags. Callum shut the door behind them, similarly burdened with the case of soda.
The pounding of feet sounded overhead, and several heads poked over the stairwell to glimpse the pair in the kitchen. “Finally!” Soren cheered, racing downstairs to try and rifle through the bags Rayla was carrying.
“Not yet, you lump,” Rayla scolded, pushing past the senior boy, “We’ve got to get upstairs at least.”
“Thanks for going to get snacks,” Claudia called, and her thanks was echoed by the other kids there. Callum and Rayla both shrugged, and made their way upstairs to the game room, where they’d all be studying.
Sitting on the various bean bag chairs and couches, the rest of the study group cheered when the food and drinks arrived. Andromeda, Callisto, Ram, Skor, and Marcos all leapt up to snatch the snacks they wanted. When everyone was sitting again, food in hand, Callum gave a dramatic clearing of his throat, turning all the heads in the room towards him.
“So, uh, thanks for coming over. Hopefully we can all actually get some studying done, since, you know, that’s what we’re here for.” He fixed a firm glance on the two couples in the room. “Ground rules: no making out in my house, don’t be super messy, and also please actually study. Soren, no idea what you’re doing here since you’ve already taken this history class, but okay.”
The older boy shrugged, taking a big gulp of his soda. “Moral support. A welcome distraction.”
Callum clapped his hands together once. “Okay then. I actually made a schedule for this, and if we follow it, we can cover all of the sections by… midnight, I think. 11 pm if we work really fast.”
“You made a schedule for studying?” Callisto asked in disbelief. Andromeda laughed, throwing an arm over her partner’s shoulder.
“Yes, I made a schedule for studying, I think it’s going to be very helpful!” Callum defended, crossing his arms over his chest. Even talking with the other two people, his green eyes somehow still managed to find Rayla’s.
She met his gaze, just for a second, heart pounding, before she looked away again. “Well, guys, if Callum wants to make a study schedule, good for him. Let’s just get started; I really need to pass this test.”
“Since when have you been worried about grades, Rayla?” Skor snorted, reclining in a beanbag chair, dumping spicy chips into his mouth.
“Since I’m in four extracurriculars and if I don’t pass, I don’t play.”
“Try-hard,” Soren coughed from his seat. Rayla just flashed him her middle finger, eliciting wild laughter from the rest of the room.
“Guys,” Callum whined, “I’m trying to be productive-”
“Okay, let’s start,” Claudia said, placing a gentle hand on Callum’s arm. It took everything Rayla had not to glare at the other girl, biting back the unwarranted flash of jealousy.
That’s all in the past. We figured it out.
Usually, she could forget just how close Callum was with Soren and Claudia. But then, something like this would happen, and she’d be reminded that before he met her, it was the siblings who were his best friends.
Having known them his whole life, it was no surprise that he’d developed a massive crush on Claudia in middle school. And he never shut up about it.
His confession at the end of seventh grade had very nearly torn their friend group to shreds. He wanted to ask her to the end of year dance, and when Claudia accepted he was ecstatic. Rayla had been happy for him, and just hoped that when they started dating, they wouldn’t be weird about it and make her and Soren uncomfortable.
But as it turned out, Claudia only thought of Callum as a friend. When she told him, Callum was crushed.
Rayla could still remember opening up her front door to see her best friend standing there, tears streaking down his face.
“Rayla, I just- I can’t believe how stupid I am-”
She pulled him into a fierce hug, and didn’t relinquish her grip on him until his mother came to pick him up. At school the next day, nobody could stop her wrath as she stalked up to Claudia and demanded answers.
“How could you?! You know how Callum feels about you, and you led him on anyway!” Rayla shouted.
“I didn’t want to hurt his feelings!” Claudia insisted, “And I do know how he feels and I didn’t want him to get the wrong idea-”
“No, I know what flirting looks like, and you led him on! He believed that you felt the same way!”
Claudia looked on the verge of tears, and some sick part of Rayla was glad for it. Let her feel bad for her actions, let her feel the same way Callum was feeling.
“Look, I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings. I just… I don’t see Callum in that way.”
“Then why’d you keep flirting with him?” Rayla’s voice was dangerously low. Their shouting match had attracted a small audience in the school cafeteria.
“I…” She was at a loss for words.
“You know what?” Rayla snapped, “Save it for someone who cares. Explain yourself to Callum, not me. It’s him who needs the apology.”
The next few weeks were tense. Hardly any of them spoke to each other. Even though Soren was in high school and had nothing to do with the drama, he still sided with his sister, like Rayla knew he would.
Things worked out. Slowly, but surely, they worked out. But not without a lot of tears from everyone involved, a lot of yelling, a lot of accusations. Things worked out.
But even after Claudia and Callum were on speaking terms again, he decided to ditch the dance. Rayla, who never was going in the first place, was more than happy to offer up her couch for a night of movie watching and junk food eating. And sure, Claudia’s Instagram photos were cute, but for Rayla, nothing could beat the fun she was having with her best friend, right here.
Rayla was pretty sure that was when she’d started to fall in love with him. Or, more accurately, when she realized that she already had fallen in love with him.
However, confessing your love to your best friend after a recent heartbreak seemed like a bad idea. So she kept it to herself.
Which, she supposed, was how she found herself here, three years later, still madly in love with her best friend who was none the wiser, getting jealous over a relationship she both knew was purely innocent and also she had no claim over anyway.
Cool, Rayla, very cool.
Shoving down her stupid feelings, Rayla listened as Callum went over his plan for the evening. Review through chapter 2, take a 15 minute break, review through chapter 4, continue pattern until they got through all the chapters they needed.
The plan was met with a loud groan of complaint from Soren’s end. “Callum, why are you even doing this? You literally have a photographic memory.”
“Well, you guys don’t, so really I’m helping all of you!”
“I mean…” Rayla snorted, “Soren does have a point. Why are you so worried about studying, Callum?”
The teenage boy scratched at his neck awkwardly. “Well, uh, it’s kind of embarrassing, but… I’ve only skimmed for answers this entire time. I need to actually read the passages to remember it.”
Rayla just rolled her eyes. “Callum. Everyone on earth just skims for answers. We know you’re all goody two-shoes, teacher’s pet, but chill. You’re going to be fine.”
“How are you so chill, Rayla?” Callum demanded, “Weren’t you just freaking out, like, two seconds ago? Hello, Miss I’m-in-every-sport-imaginable?”
“Changing the subject!” Rayla declared loudly, “Open up the textbook, Callum!”
~~~~
“Time check,” Ram moaned from where his face was pressed into one of the beanbag chairs, “How much longer?”
“We’re at-” Callum attempted to respond, but was cut off by a yawn.
“Chapter six?” Rayla asked, though she wasn’t too sure herself. All the words were beginning to jumble together on the pages. At some point her notecards had gotten mixed up, and random dates and events were scattered all over the room.
“No, the time,” Ram complained. The other boy sat up, brushing his shaggy white hair from his eyes. “What time is it? My curfew is 11:30.”
Callisto grabbed their phone and took a glance. “11:15.”
“Ok, let’s review,” Callum suggested. However, the entire room gave a loud groan of complaint.
“My brain is melting!” Soren cried, dramatically tossing his head into Marcos’s lap. His boyfriend rolled his eyes at his antics, though he threaded his fingers through the other boy’s blond hair.
“Soren, you don’t have to take this test tomorrow!” Claudia snapped, “Don’t start whining!” The girl looked almost ready to start pulling her hair out.
“Alright,” Andromeda sighed, “My mom’s calling; she’s probably here to pick me up. Thanks for this, Callum. If I find a quizlet I’ll send it in the groupchat, okay?”
“Yes!” Skor cheered, “Quizlet is my lifesaver!”
“Pass me some Doritos, Rayla,” Callum muttered in quiet defeat. Rayla hummed in agreement, grabbing the chip bag from the pile of snacks nearby. Her friend was so tired that he didn’t even complain when she took a couple for herself.
One by one, the room began to empty. Callisto’s dad came to pick them up, Ram agreed to drive Skor home, and Claudia, Soren, and Marcos piled into Soren’s little car to drive off into the night.
That just left Rayla. And Callum. Alone.
“Place is a mess,” Callum sighed, taking in all the damage. Although they’d started out pretty clean, as the night wore on everyone got lazier and started just piling the trash where they were sitting. Crumbs spilled over the carpet, and empty soda cans rolled about.
“Let me help clean,” Rayla offered, “I mean, some of the mess is mine.” She gestured to the notecards spilled everywhere. Her mind was a bit fuzzy from exhaustion, but she was pretty sure she and Soren had started throwing them at each other at one point.
“No, it’s fine-” Callum sputtered, but Rayla just rolled her eyes.
“Let me help. Then we can both go to bed and you won’t get in trouble for the mess.” She left no room for argument, and started gathering up all the garbage and stuffing it in the empty grocery bags.
They worked in companionable silence, just tidying up the room. Rayla knew his house well enough to know where everything went, and tossed out all the garbage and swept up the lingering crumbs. Soon enough, the room looked nearly spotless again.
“See, fast!” Rayla chuckled. She glanced at her phone. “Just in time, too. Runaan’s asking where I am.”
Callum surprised her with a sudden hug, catching her off guard for a moment before she returned it, trying to calm her fluttering heart.
It’s just a hug. Friends hug all the time, don’t get all excited.
“Thanks for coming,” Callum said, a tiny bit breathlessly, “I know you were worried about the test and I wanted to help, sorry it got kind of out of hand.”
“You… organized this all… for me?” Rayla hoped her face wasn’t as red as it felt.
“Well, yeah,” He laughed, “Even though you probably didn’t need it. You know all the material really well.”
“Only thanks to you, and you know that,” Giving him a friendly punch to the shoulder, Rayla couldn’t contain her grin. “I do feel better prepared, though. I’ll pass. If my brain doesn’t turn to mush first.”
“You’ll ace it,” Callum assured her, “I’m sure of it.”
His green eyes were so bright. And his smile so genuine. Rayla returned it, albeit with less enthusiasm. “Thanks.” Her voice sounded stupidly high-pitched, even to her.
He held her gaze for another long moment before glancing down, at the buzzing phone in her hand that she hadn’t even noticed, too caught up in staring. “You should go. Get some sleep for the test tomorrow, huh?”
“Yeah,” Rayla breathed, “You too. I’ll see in English tomorrow.”
It was an effort to leave the room. To walk down the stairs, quietly so she wouldn’t wake his parents, and out the front door. To open up her door and get in the car, turn the key in the ignition.
The entire street was silent. That’s how it always was, she supposed. The first to arrive and the last to leave. A glance up told her Callum was staring out his bedroom window at her, watching her leave.
With a heavy sigh, Rayla put the car in reverse. Pulled out of the driveway.
She wasn’t naive. Callum had always been big on physical contact, and it had never meant anything more than he cared. She wasn’t willing to put her heart on the line like that, not when she was sure he didn’t like her that way.
Rayla was a risk taker. Always had been. But this? To risk the relationship she already had with her best friend? That was one risk she would never be willing to take.

Friends (Kelce X Reader)
Tumblr media
12 and 52 for Kelce? A fellow Kelce hoe!!!We love to see it 😊
You and Kelce had always been pretty close. He had met you at the bookstore. You worked as a cashier. You didnt need to work,of course, you came from a rich family but it made you feel happy and gave you something to do on otherwise boring days.He had come in with Topper the August before freshman year, hunting for the summer reading books that they most definitely didnt want to read.Kelce had been practically drooling over you since the pair walked in,glancing to your nametag and smiling to himself.
Topper kept smacking his arm, urging him to talk to you. That day he had got your phone number, texting you to ask you about yourself.Neither of you knew what that day at the bookstore would lead up to.Mindless flirting lead to deep conversations, complains about school and home life. He’d ask to hang out, going to the gas station to buy shitty snacks and sit on the beach, drinking iced coffee and mocking the seagulls.
He had intended to make you his girl but ended up finding something else within you,a best friend. You had always wanted a best friend like him,one that would let you hug him as much as you wanted, steal his t shirts and complain about period pains. He’d facetime you every night while he played video games to ask you about your day and would stay on the phone with you until you fell asleep if you were anxious.
You two sat in your backyard, rolling a half inflated beach ball back and forth. “I dont even know,Kel.It’s like they dont care about me and I dont even know what to do anymore. It not like they’re ever around, they just leave me here.”You complained. He nodded, not bothering to roll the ball back to you.Instead he leaned forward, knocking you backwards and wrapping his arms around your waist, his head on your stomach.
“I can sleepover whenever you want, you know.”He sighed. You nodded, your hand falling onto his chest, letting him take it. “You wanna get slushies?”He asked. You grinned, sitting up and pushing the boy off you. “always.”You answered, running inside to get your keys before the two of you got in the car. “Its so hot in here.”He grumbled, turning on the air conditioning. “Uh,yeah, cause youre in here.”You grinned, backing out of the driveway. “Hey,theres a boneyard happening later tonight. You wanna go?”He asked.
You shook your head, turning around a corner and pulling into the Cumberland Farms parking lot. “You know I dont like parties.”You sighed, unbuckling your seatbelt and getting out of the car. “You never go to parties,it could be fun.”He frowned. You shrugged, grabbing a plastic cup and filling it with cotton candy slushie.  “How do you drink that? Its like way to sweet.”He spoke in disgust as he filled his cup with cola slushied.
You rolled your eyes, pressing a lid on and grabbing yourself a straw. “You dont need to degrade it because its not your type,Kelce. This is why slushies have self confidence issues.”You huffed, taking a sip of the cold blue drink. He chuckled, pulling the hood of your jacket, kissing the top of your head. You two sat in the Cumberland Farms parking lot for a while, stabbing the ice chunks with the end of your straw as he tried to convince you to attend the party.
“You and Topper and Rafe will start trouble,I dont wanna be there when the cops show up.”You sighed quietly, sipping your slushie. He leaned his elbow on the armrest, letting his head rest on his palm. “If I promise to be good for the night will you go?”He asked. You huffed, turning down your radio and turning to look at him. “When have you ever behaved?Ever?”You asked. He pouted. “I’ll behave for you.”He answered. You ignored him, backing out of the parking lot and beginning your drive home.
“Why wont you go to just one party?”He asked, seeming annoyed. “Because im not getting involved in all that shit. You act like Rafe’s not a fucking drug addict,im not gonna get peer pressured into snorting coke.”You shot him a glare. He grumbled something, looking out the window. “Fine, you dont have to go.”He finally answered.
“Where’s (Y/N)?”Topper asked.Kelce sighed, closing the car door. “She’s not coming, too stressed about drugs and shit.”He answered.Rafe rolled his eyes, driving quickly to The Cut. “Of course she is.I dont get why you cant just drop her already.”Rafe sighed, the car shaking from the bumps and potholes. “He cant drop her because he’s in love with her,hes just too ignorant to admit it.”Topper chuckled, scrolling through his phone.Rafe raised his eyebrows, looking over to Kelce in the backseat. “Is that true?”He asked.Kelce simply shrugged, not even trying to fight the statement.
It wasnt until one in the morning that Kelce realized how much he regretted coming to this party. He had stayed isolated, thinking about how much more fun he would be having if he had slept over your house to bake shitty cake from boxed mix and watch The Office.Topper had completely disappeared somewhere in the crowd and he hadnt even bothered keeping an eye on Rafe.He took his phone from his pocket, texting you to ask what you were doing and how you were.
He almost wanted to cry, realizing just how difficult it was to be somewhere without you.He walked further down the beach to a spot where he could call you without the music interfering. “What’s up?”You asked, sounding tired. He huffed, looking out to the ocean. “Can you pick me up?”He asked.
It only took you ten minutes to get there, parked outside an abandoned house.Kelce had followed the location that you sent him, getting into your air conditioned car. “What happened?”You asked, driving down the rough pavement. He shrugged, leaning back in his seat. “I realized that I wasn't in a party mood.”He answered. You didn't ask any further questions. He must've dozed off because when he woke up again you had opened the car door for him, unbuckling his seatbelt and telling him that you were back at the house.
He followed you tiredly, throwing himself onto your couch. “Did you eat?”You asked. Now that he could see you properly, the bright light of your kitchen hitting you he could see that you were wearing a zip up hoodie that was a bit to big for you.It was over a tube top and sweatpants, meaning that you had got up straight from your nap to go get him. “Is that mine?”He asked, pointing to the hoodie.
“Its mine now, bitch.”You answered, going to grab a box of oreos. You sat down next to him, handing him the box. “So quick question.”He peeled back the plastic, twisting off one of the chocolate cookies. “shoot.”You replied, turning on your tv. “So like...hypothetically what would your reaction be if I told you that I see you as more than a friend?”He asked. You stayed quiet for a second, eyes glued to the television. “What?”You asked. He sighed, his heart beating and his knees feeling weak even though he was sitting.
“Friends….Friends don't look at each other the way we do.”He answered, watching your facial expressions. You bit down on your tongue, placing the remote on your leg. “Are you serious right now?”You asked. He nodded, still staring at you.You bit down on your lip, looking down at the couch cushion before looking back up at him. “Are you fucking with me?”You asked. He shook his head.
“You think I asked for your number at the bookstore because I wanted to be friends? No.I asked because I liked the way your face lit up when you were watching vine compilations on your phone and I wanted to watch them with you.I asked for you number because I thought-because I knew that you were different.”He looked right into your eyes, waiting for your reaction. “So this whole time….”You trailed off, watching him nod.
“Things wouldve been so much easier if you said this last year, dude.”You giggled, shaking your head as you split an oreo in half. His eyebrows raised, trying to figure out what you meant. “What?”He asked. You grinned, eating half of the oreo. “Im just saying that you’re clueless as fuck.Ooh we should watch Clueless, thats such an iconic movie. But yeah,no i’ve liked you for a while now you just suck at taking hints.”You smiled at his confused expression, leaning into his chest.

Can Burned Bridges Be Restored?
I wanted to write about a dear friend of mine back in college. I'll call her 'G' for discretion. This is gonna be a long, melancholic story, and I don't normally expect anyone to read this sort of thing, so I appreciate if you read it. Here it goes...
G and I first met in our second year of college. We were batchmates in psychology. At first, I was hesitant to get to know her and initiate a conversation because she was very much bonded with her own set of friends (who eventually became my friends too). What's funny is that we did not talk to each other that much or hung out in the first year we've known each other. The only times we would do so is when we would bump into each other at school, or if she would show up to have lunch with mutual friends of ours. But I do recall a lot of instances that helped facilitate what we called a friendship.
Whenever I would hang out with G and our friends, I couldn't help but notice how she and I have a similar vibe. We both have similar music tastes, we both like talking about anything and everything under the sun, and we deem ourselves to be part of a "street-smart minority" in our department. (Trust me, there's a lot of rich kids in that public school.) We often shared our personal stories and eventually became comfortable sharing even our deepest personal troubles and insecurities.
One of my favorite memories happened on what seemed to be a mundane day. When she and I got grouped together for a major project for our Abnormal Psychology class (along with another close musician friend of mine), we often spent time talking about it both online or after school on some days. On one day, I asked her to join me in grabbing some coffee and a snack in a Starbucks just one jeep ride away from school. When we got there, we talked about the usual non-school stuff - music, attractive boys, life plans. She and I eventually discovered new things about ourselves. And from that moment on, I treated her as a very good friend of mine.
Fast forward to a couple months later, something horrible happened. For sensitive reasons - and out of respect for her - I'll only share this much: Her loved one died. But, not in the just way, if you know what I mean. It stunned me and fellow friends of hers. And I could only imagine the pain, anger, and grief she felt when that happened. It was the middle of the semester when it happened and we could not help but be worried for her. The days following were perhaps the whirlwind of her life. Me and my friends planned, met up, and attended the funeral. When we got there, we were cautiously optimistic to see that she seemed to smile somehow. Of course, it may be because she was comforted to see us being there for her.
We could not tell much how it has also impacted her academics. But from what I remember, she would still show up to the classes we were both in. But, I never bothered prying into her performance. She was still usually around when we would have our after-school hangouts, especially since she was staying in a dormitory just nearby. We often would invite her out, mostly because we hate the thought of her being alone.
One time, we tried going out for drinks with our usual barkada. When we found ourselves disappointed because all the nearby bars were full, we simply decided to just bring the party "home" and crash at our friend's place with drinks from 7Eleven. She was also living close by G's. G and I spent the night with some laughs, games, and heartfelt stories, but we never bothered bringing up her current well-being - at least directly. It was late into the Friday night, and I personally was enjoying myself, so I felt motivated to stay the night. I had to let my mom know that I wasn't coming home that night, but I needed an excuse that she'll feel comfortable with. I took the phone call just outside the apartment room, by the elevators where it's quiet. G decided to join me there. I was struggling to find out any reason she'll be comfortable with so I just decided to tell her the truth until-- G gestured, pointing to herself. She was mouthing, "Say it's because of me." I was hesitant at first, but I eventually did when she insisted that she talk to my mom. It was nonetheless true anyway.
That moment boggled me, not because it was not planned, but because of her initiative. Even if I wasn't keen on going home that night, I was surprised she was willing to suggest that I state her as my reason, knowing how much it is sensitive to her. I thanked her for it, albeit bashfully. "Hindi mo naman kailangang gawin 'yon for me," I said. "Okay lang, ano ka ba?! Totoo naman e," she retorted with a smile. The smile. It was sweet and sincere. And in my mind, I was worried about the underlying pain she was feeling. But I just took her word for it. The night went out with happy moments still. We all slept in and decided to go home in the morning next day. Those months were a pinnacle of our college friendship. And I was happy to at least give her even the slightest bits of comfort, along with many other people who love her just as much.
Our friendship continued on until after I graduated in 2018. G had to drop a few classes, which was a telltale sign at that point that she was struggling academically for very obvious, valid reasons. But even if I left college, we considered each other as close friends. We would still see each other, but only less frequently, especially when I'm around school for certain business or special events in my college org.
My last memory of hanging out with her was back in 2019. It was her younger sister's birthday, so G treated her and invited us to a bar we were all too familiar with back in college. It was a fun night! Dancing. Booze. Music. I was even happy to see her smile again and be celebratory. Afterwards, we kept online communications, but only minimally since she and I had our own things to worry about. I was busy with my job and she was focused on getting herself back on track and finishing school.
Eventually, our exchanges became short. Even if I teased her casually about me visiting her province for a vacation, she didn't seem to respond to me anymore. "She's busy," I thought. And it sort of got out of my habit to check in on her after several ignored messages. It didn't make me mad or anything, but a little bit concerned. I just continued using the same rational I had in my mind.
Fast forward to May 2020, around the time when the pandemic had just started. There came a time that I was constantly worried about my friends and miss them very much. So day after day I checked in on my closest friends. G was one of them. The only surprising thing was that she still ignored me and it left me worried even more. Weeks have passed without a reply and I rechecked her social media account and--
I was unfriended.
I couldn't search for her account anymore in Facebook. She unfollowed and removed me from her following list in Instagram. And I couldn't message her accounts anymore. I was heartbroken - but still, not mad. In a hurry, I messaged all of our friends who were close to her. We all shared the same connection to her at that point: unfriended, unfollowed, and disconnected.
My friends and I spoke to each other briefly afterwards, hypothesizing what could have happened, and why she did that. We were left to speculate that perhaps it was in her darkest times that we were around that possibly associated us to one of her biggest moments of pain. Regardless if that is rational or not, it didn't bother me. In fact, it was my only way to reason things out.
Again, I'm not mad... but just sad. The source of comfort my friends and I shared was the idea that she was doing things for herself, and we trust her judgment. We respect her person, and love her still. When I found the opportunity to message her (since I saw the option was available again), I took the liberty to write a simple message stating what we discovered, and that we support and love her still.
And quite recently, with the surge of cases of COVID-19, I couldn't help but fall back to a state of worry for my loved ones, especially my friends. I may not be the biggest personality to most of them, but my kind of love is when life hits us all the hardest. I'm a natural worrier, so to speak. Even if I don't let my worries get the best of me, I know that they are still of use.
With optimism, I hope G realizes this as well. I hope she is doing well and keeping safe. And I hope she doesn't love us any less, because we don't. This sounds too dramatic, but we'll always love her anyway. While the odds of her reaching out again seem low, I still hold on to that small chance that we'll be speaking to each other again. Until then, I'll pick up the remaining pieces of this burned bridge and keep moving forward.
Until we meet again, G.

Valentine’s Day || BTS JK
Genre: Fluff Paring: JK x reader A/N: My first fanfic hehe, hope you like it and do drop a message if you did!
In University, you joined a dance club as an extra curricular activity and that was when you met your best friend — Jungkook. Everyone in the club was familiar with each other and you had many events together already. It had turned into your family in university.
“He said I looked good in my recent post.” You had to admit that you sounded vain and shallow when you said that to your best friend. Jungkook chuckled, “I’m telling you he’s interested.”
“Or he’s just being nice.” You countered, to which Jungkook shrugged his shoulders. You took the drink you ordered and walked away with Jungkook to your table to have your lunch.
You hung out with Jungkook the most in school since you guys took the same modules and in the same year. “Anyway, enough about me, any updates on that girl that texted you?” “Nothing really, she’s another one that thinks we’re dating. I don’t understand why a girl and guy hanging out together will always get mistaken for being together.”
“Beats me. Maybe you should get rid of me to help with your game.” You grinned at Jungkook as a joke. He rolled his eyes at you, “As if it’ll be easy to get rid of you.”
“Oh so you’ve had thoughts about it?”
“Shut up.” Jungkook threw his crumpled receipt at you to make you stop. The two of you finished your lunch and headed to your next lecture together. On the way, you were talking about what you and Jimin had been talking about the other night when you were lucky enough to bump into him.
“Guess who’s behind.” Jungkook whispered after he had coincidentally turned around. “No way. You think he heard me gushing about him?”
Your best friend shook his head, placed his hand on your shoulder and whipped your body 180 degrees so that you could meet eye to eye with Jimin.
“H-Hey Jimin!”
“Y/N! Jungkook! Just the people I was looking for!” Jimin waved at you enthusiastically as he jogged up to the both you.
“You were?”
Jimin bidded his head with his charming closed mouth smile, “Nothing serious. Just a random question, are y’all skipping practice next Friday?”
Park Jimin. Another star dancer in the club, along with Jungkook and a few others. He’s also the one you have been talking about to Jungkook. You did see your fellow club members as family. Jimin was the exception though.
Jimin was a flirt.
A lot of people knew that. However it was not like the f*ckboy flirty ways, he was a natural at it. You were even sure that there were times he himself didn’t even recognize that he was flirting. You loved to talk to Jimin. You loved to see him dance as well.
“Skipping practice? No, why?”
“Because,” Jimin winked at you, “Next Friday is Valentine’s Day.” You tried not to let a big smile show as you remained ‘nonchalant’ about Valentine’s Day.
“I might be.” Jungkook wriggled his shoulders cutely and you nudged your best friend with a shocked look on your face. “I need an update!” Jungkook laughed, nodding head his, “Yes boss. I’ll update you later. For now, we have a lecture to attend.:
The three of you were in the same lecture for this module. However, Jimin attended this module with another group of his while you were with Jungkook. It was true that you two seemed inseparable. Of course it was appear this way since you guys organised your semester schedules together. You guys met during orientation camp and have become best friends ever since.
Halfway through the lecture, Jungkook had given up listening and started using his phone discreetly behind his laptop. You glanced to see that he was texting someone. “Who’s that?” You softly nudged his sides. “It’s the girl I asked out for Valentine’s.”
Your attention immediately shifted to finding out who was this mysterious girl, turning to him to ask for more information. “Show me a picture! What’s her name? How did you meet?”
Jungkook nudged you to keep quiet, finding a picture of her on social media. ‘Wow she looks good.” You thought to yourself, somehow feeling dejected without knowing the reason why.
It dawned on you that Jungkook won’t be there for dance practice next Friday and it made you less excited for practice. However, something bothered you even more. You felt more upset compared to the other times when he was just lazy to practice but you couldn’t put a finger on it. So you decided to brush it off.
__
“Jeon Jungkook! What is this?” You asked in shock as you looked at the contents of the tote bag. Taking out the box from inside, you opened it to find out that Jungkook had prepared you a lunch bento box and along with it, came your favourite drink.
“Do you like it?” He asked, you didn’t miss how shy and nervous he sounded.
You looked back up at me, showing the brightest smile you have as you pulled him in for a tight hug. “I love it! I love food! You’re the best I swear!” You felt his chest vibrate as he chuckled, making your heart flutter from the sensation. He patted your shoulders, signalling you to release him from your tight grasp.
“I didn’t get you anything though.” You pouted, feeling guilty that you didn’t prepare a surprise for your best friend. He shook his head, “Nah, it’s fine y/n. Don’t feel bad about it. It was an impromptu thing anyway.”
Jungkook started filling you in about the details on his date later that night - where he would bring out and what time. Once he was done sharing his part, you started talking about you will be hanging out with some of the club members after practice, one of them being Jimin.
You noticed his smile dropped for a split second before he went back to showing a supportive and bright smile. “Are you guys getting closer?” Shrugging your shoulders, “I guess so? But just as friends.”
“I see.”
While waiting for practice to start, you and Jimin were sitting next to each other, talking about recent events the past few days and just catching up in general. You realised that you never gotten the proper chance to just sit down with Jimin alone to get to know him better. It was mostly because you were always more nervous about trying not to make it obvious that you thought he’s cute.
However, the longer the conversation went, the more you realised. You were more than happy with how things are with you and Jimin. It already felt perfect in a way. You weren’t sure of the reason why but suddenly, it was as if you didn’t have that cute crush on him anymore.
“Jungkook told me about the girl he’s taking out tonight. Have you met her?” “No,” you answered curtly, which surprised Jimin and even yourself. “Why do you ask?”
“Nothing.” Jimin chuckled, “Why are you laughing?” You looked at him in a questioning manner. Jimin just pinched your cheeks playfully. “It’s nothing y/n.”
You didn’t want to talk about Jungkook’s Valentine’s date, you weren’t sure why but you were sure that you wanted to change the topic.
Practice ended slightly earlier so you guys dashed out of the studio to head over to McDonald’s to get a midnight snack since you were all starving after dancing for hours.
Hoseok and Seokjin, also members of the dance club, were goofing around while you guys were walking to the fast food place. Taehyung was behind them, laughing freely and filming them. While you and Jimin were in front leading the way and talking with each other.
“Valentine’s Day doesn’t seem so boring when we have them behind us.” Jimin was referring to the two fooling around behind. You laughed as you glanced back, nodding your head in agreement.
“Too bad Jungkook isn’t here.” Jimin added.
“At least he’s on a cute date.” You said bitterly, looking down at your feet, not really paying attention to what you had just uttered.
“You know, I find it hard to believe no one asked you out for VDAY.” Jimin commented.
You looked back up to face Jimin as you walked, “I mean, everyone in the crew are all like family. We don’t see each other that way? And I basically only hang out with y’all.”
“Mmm. I guess that could be another reason.” Jimin jutted out his lower lip as you stared straight ahead, as if deep in thought.
You furrowed your brows, “Another reason? What reason did you have in mind?”
Jimin just winked at you and you nudged him to get it out of him.
“Spill.”
“You know, before I spill, I might as well spill that I knew you had a small crush on me.” He winked at you and you were completely caught off guard. He knew all this time?! You felt like a fool next to him all of a sudden.
Out of embarrassment you smacked his arm. “Didn’t need to do me dirty like that.”
Jimin laughed before continuing, “I had a crush on you too, for the record.”
You scoffed, not believing his words. “Really now.” For all you know, he could be saying that out of pity to help you feel less embarrassed.
“Yea. But I thought you and JK had a thing so I did my best to get rid of those thoughts. I only knew about you liking me recently because Jungkook dropped some not so subtle hints.”
“He WHAT?!”
Jimin winced sheepishly, probably thinking he screwed up and you were going to murder Jungkook.
“Don’t kill him. It’s because I was asking about your V-Day plans.” Jimin shook his head, “Anyway, back to the main point. That’s the reason I was referring to.”
“The main reason is that people think Jungkook and I are a thing?”
“Not gonna lie, I ship you guys at the same time so I was willing to let my crush go.” He winked at you and you laughed. “Well, you should’ve made your move since we aren’t together. He’s on a date now and he’s just my best friend.”
“You sure about that?” He asked as he opened the door to McDonalds, letting the group in and that put a pause on your conversation
After that day, Jungkook didn’t really update you about his date as he was talking to you as if nothing happened. You found it weird because he was usually very eager to share what happened.
“Okay. Why aren’t you updating me about your date?”
“There’s nothing to say.” He grumbled, seemingly not in the mood to talk.
“What do you mean there’s nothing? There has to be updates.”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
Jungkook was avoiding your eye contact, looking at his drink, stirring the melting ice with his straw.
You tried to think of a reason why Jungkook was in such a sour mood. Then it clicked in your head, “Oh. It went badly didn’t it? It’s okay Jung—“
“I said I don’t want to talk about it.” He snapped his head up to look at you straight in the eye.
“Damn. Okay.” You raised your hands, brushing his harsh reply off though it hurt you a bit. Jungkook felt guilty for lashing out at you and opened his mouth to apologise but was distracted when he saw Jimin approach your table, waving at the both you.
“Lover boy is here. I gotta go.” Jungkook got up with his bag.
“Go where? Our next lecture is only in an hour—“
“I’m going to the library.” He rushed off after saying hello to Jimin.
The library? Since when does he go to the library before lectures?
After waving goodbye to Jungkook, Jimin turned back at you, standing next to your table. “He looks pissed. What did you do?”
You shrugged your shoulders, leaning back against your seat, staring at your empty plate and cup.  “I have no clue. He was being pissy about his date.”
“Oh. He didn’t tell you what happened?”
“No. What do you know?”
“He cancelled his date.” Jimin said with a knowing smirk, wriggling his shoulder suggestively.
“And how do you know that?”
“He told Taehyung when we were going out for Macs that night. He wanted to join us for post-practice meal.”
“So why didn’t he?”
Jimin sighed, reaching into his pockets to take out his phone. He showed you his chat with Taehyung.
“Tae filmed the group walking to Macs and I guess he saw this.” Jimin explained as you read the chat. You clicked on the video that Taehyung sent. “Wait.” Jimin took his phone and  skipped to the part where you and Jimin were walking together and seemingly having a good time together.
Confused, you looked back up at Jimin. “What about it?”
Jimin jokingly poked your forehead. “Must I spell everything out for you? He likes you. Dumb ass.”
You laughed, “If he did. He would’ve asked me out for Valentine’s.”
Jimin shrugged his shoulders, taking your bag from the seat. “He probably would’ve asked you if you didn’t tell him about your crush on me.”
“What are you doing with my bag—“
Jimin took your arm and pulled you up. “Where did he go?”
“The library?”
“Yea right, that boy ain’t there to study. Go talk to him.” He started pulling you in the direction of the library.
Throughout the walk to the library, you kept saying you didn’t want to talk about it. You needed to think it through and come up with a plan but Jimin kept pulling you all the way.
At the entrance, you saw Jungkook walk out, he looked at you and Jimin together. You noticed the blank look on his face, as if he was trying to hide his emotions.
Jimin smiled at Jungkook and pushed you towards him.
“See y’all at the lecture!” Jimin winked at you and briskly walked off.
“Screw you jimin.” You cursed under your breath.
“What’s going on?” Jungkook asked as he walked up to you and you shook your head. “N-Nothing. Just wanted to check on you since I seemed to have pissed you off earlier.”
Jungkook sighed and shook his head. “No you didn’t. Sorry I snapped at you. Can we forget about that?” You agreed and the two of you made your way to the lecture hall.
“About my date. I cancelled it.” Jungkook spoke after the short silence.
So it was true.
“Why?”
“It didn’t feel right.” He answered but you didn’t pry.
After lecture, Jungkook suggested to go for ice cream and you agreed. He asked about updates on you and Jimin. You told him you don’t see him that way anymore.
“Really? Just the other day—“
“Yea I know what I said but I realised it was just eye candy or something.”
Suddenly you remembered that Jungkook snitched on you. “He told me that he knows I liked him. I wonder why.” You looked at him and he gave you an apologetic look.
“I-I’m sorry.”
You laughed, brushing it aside, “It’s okay. But we talked about it and we’re cool.”
There was silence following that as you guys ate your own ice cream. It was creating nervousness in you and you couldn’t sit in silence any longer.
“Wish you joined us that night.”
Jungkook smiled, “Me too.”
“Why didn’t you? Since you cancelled the date.”
He shrugged his shoulders, avoiding your eye contact once again, taking a lick of his ice cream. “It was too late to go out.”
“That’s nonsense. You have no curfew.”
Jungkook chuckled, “Okay yea you’re right.”
“Jimin told me you asked Taehyung where we were but you didn’t meet us.”
“I lost the mood to meet you guys.”
Your eyes widened in disbelief, “You lost the mood for a midnight snack? Okay, the date, I understand since you’ve done that before. But McDonald’s? With everyone?”
Jungkook pressed his lips into a thin smile, you could tell he was thinking of his reply. You waited, eating your ice cream that was slowly melting in the cup.
“I didn’t want to go there on Valentine’s just to see you and Jimin together.”
You stopped mid-scoop and looked up at him who was looking down at his ice cream cone. “W-What?” You felt your body froze, trying to comprehend what he was trying to say.
With a frustrated sigh, he looked into your eyes and confessed. “I always cancelled on dates because I didn’t want to go on dates with other girls. Hanging out with you is more than enough. I thought at first maybe its because I was just stuck with you. But after hanging out with other girls before, it just didn’t feel as happy and chill when we hang out.”
You didn’t break eye contact at all and you felt the sincerity of every single word he had uttered. Yet, you didn’t know how to reply. You felt your heartbeat even more heavily, you felt this adrenaline rising in your and your cheeks heating up.
“I like you y/n.”
You leaned back, staring at your cup of ice cream. “Huh.” You chuckled, completely at a lost.
“Why are you laughing” He asked, looking a bit nervous.
You looked up at him, making eye contact and smiled. “If you do, why aren’t you asking me out on a date then?”
His nervous look morphed into a big smile, “Do you want to go on a date with me?”
“I’d love to.”

The Real Story Behind Krampus (2017), And The 17 Other Terrifying Christmas Tales And Traditions You NEED To Know About
Christmas is a time for family, a time for laughter, and a time for drinking volumes of alcohol that make your cousins concerned about your emotional wellbeing.
But most importantly, it's a time for demons to hunt down children and stuff them full of straw and pebbles. No, I’m not talking about the Eastenders Christmas Special - I’m talking about the Christmas traditions they don’t put in Hallmark movies.
As Christmas has been celebrated for 2000 years, it has amassed a collation of equally terrifying traditions and monsters that only the dark corners of history could conjure up.
Although confirmed by the Dickensian tradition of sharing ghost stories (see Matthew Mcconaughey movie - or failing that some old book about poverty in Victorian Britain), it seems we’ve forgotten the true terror behind the most wonderful time of the year!
Tumblr media
So, as your favourite paranormal blogger, I’ve taken it upon myself to bring together everything creepy ‘bout Christmas.
Today’s post is gonna take y’all through the mythical monsters you should be on the lookout for, plus the Christmas traditions that bare a dark, twisted backstory.
Which is all of them.
Let’s get spooky!
First, Let’s All About The Monsters Of Christmas
Hands up if you’ve watched Krampus (2017).
Here’s the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6cVyoMH4QE
It might not be Love, Actually, nor will it ever score a set of great reviews, but it got everyone talking about the mythical creature titling the film.
Need a summary?
This dark-comedy/horror film centres around a dysfunctional family at Christmas. When the youngest child loses faith in Santa, he rips up his letter to him, sending a signal to Krampus that he has lost his Christmas spirit and thus must be punished!
Tumblr media
Okay, this film doesn’t fit the actual legend that well. But the kid does get dragged to hell - and unfortunately, that’s what sticks closest to the creature titling the film.
On top of this, the movie features the classic mysterious European grandmother that has a story about the war (as a European I can confirm this). But her story isn’t about an air raid, or some long-gone past ruler; instead, it explains a twisted tale regarding the most famous companion of Father Christmas.
That being said, it provides an introduction that only scratches the surface of the mythical creatures of Crimbo:
Krampus is the half-goat, half-demon creature that is often witnessed wandering ‘round with Santa Claus. Concieved in the pre-christian era in central europe, his aim of existence was to punish naughty children.
“So, Santa provides for the nice kids, Krampus provides for the naughty kids? Got it.”
If only it was that simple.
Krampus’s family tree is more twisted than the British royal family - and has a similar collection of dodgy relatives:
Son of the Norse goddess, Hel (ruler of the underworld and the dead), Krampus is a Perchten, a race of beasts born to scare away Winter. Never heard of ‘em? Well, you’ve probably heard of his grandfather, then: Loki.
Tumblr media
Given his famous hegemony, it follows that he is always believed to be the Horned God of the Witches, and sticks to a devilish image.
With a dark, hairy body, large fangs and a tongue hanging far below his bottom lip, beast-like is an understatement. Accessorising his frightful look is a grasp of birch branches or a whip, as well as a sack or basket (to put children in and take to hell or save for a quick drink and snack later), and chains.
However, the chains part is still subject to debate: some believe it is an attempt to bind the devil by the Catholic Church in attempt to control him, while others claim it is because Krampus is Santa’s slave.
This directly relates to the position of Krampus and his fellow monsters - they are all believed to be Santa’s companions.
So, we know who Krampus is. But did you know he has a whole night devoted to him?
Krampusnacht falls on the 6th December, a day from which people put on masks and get drunk, scaring kids. Alternatively, you can dress up and hand out coal, mirroring the Krampus spirit! Nevertheless, both serve as a reminder to children not to be naughty, as does the bundle of golden birch branches you can have in your house.
Now, who’s ready to get their feminist on?
Tumblr media
Frau Perchta is the female counterpart of Krampus.
This goddess-monster goes about giving good kids silver coins, and giving naughty kids, uh, well, death.
She’d slice ‘em open, and stuff ‘em full of straw and pebbles. But her backstory goes much further than simply murdering children: as she oversees spinning as a part of the 12 days of Christmas, she focuses on people that get their work done.
And if you slack? Then you gon’ get murdered.
Given her name, it’s obvious that like Krampus, she’s a beast-like creature. But her animalistic tropes only go so far as her feet - just like Krampus’ single goat hoof, she has a swan foot.
“So, she’s a swan?”
Nope - she’s either regarded as a beautiful young woman, or an old crone.
Classic Patriarchy.
Tumblr media
Next up is another animal, but this time, it comes in the form of a cat. Unfortunately, the Yule Cat is less Instagram, and more deadly. Yep - this Icelandic beast eats the kids that fail to complete their chores before Christmas.
Just like Frau Perchta, it can be traced back to farmers attempting to scare their workers into getting shizz done. If they hadn’t processed the autumn wool, they’d be eaten by the cat. If they had, they’d receive new clothes.
You’d better be thankful for those socks, then!
Tumblr media
But it turns out the Yule Cat isn’t the only monster from Iceland. In fact, he’s actually the pet of a family of ferocious Christmas beasts!
Gryla and Leppaludi are a couple hell-bent on detecting naughty children. Gryla, the matriarch of this famalam - is a Norse giantess, who wanders round each and every village in iceland. Once she’s found said children, she eats them.
Often she is described as a beggar, asking for parents to turn over their disobedient children so she can chuck ‘em in her sack, and add them to her signature stew!
Her husband - well, third husband but who’s judging - Leppaludi, is what the Daily Mail would label a benefit-scrounger as he hangs about in their cave all day. On top of this is their 12 children: The Yule Lads.
(God, this has a Daily Mail story written all over it.)
Each lad has a different, um, quirk.
One harasses sheep. One steels tupperware - no, seriously, he makes a point of stealing pots with lids. And another steals candles from children.
So that’s Iceland covered - let’s head back to continental Europe!
Hans Trapp is our next contender for the ultimate creep of Christmas. Trapp is a resident of Alsace-Lorraine, and comes from near the border of France and Germany. But what’s really terrifying about this monster is that he once existed.
Tumblr media
Hans Von Trotha was a French Knight and man of particular political distinction. From his feuds with the church, to his ever-roaming spirit after he died, the following myth was by no means a random creation. However, the backstory to Hans Trapp took a bit of a detour from his past:
Trapp was reportedly a Satanist who would kill children. Yeah, you can see a theme here…
This rich, greedy man was excommunicated by the church, and then exiled to the forest where he would hunt children. Well, he would until struck by a bolt of lightning sent by God. But despite his rather dark past, his backstory is less really-demonic, more redemptive.
A bit like Krampus, he seeks to remind kids to be virtuous, teaming up with St. Nicholas to ensure children would be nice.
Next is Romanian Werewolves.
Yep, that’s plural.
Tumblr media
Sure, these man-beasts show up during the full moon, but also makes a point of unleashing their true forms at Christmas. This has merged with caroling in Romania - dressing up as animals and pissing off people busy having a cheeky Baileys rather than see their family is a common occurrence there.
Oh, and they go around and tell you not to have sex.
No, seriously, you aren’t allowed to have sex on Christmas Eve cause Jesus or somethin’.
The other Christmas mythical creatures include:
Le Pere Fouettard, some fella who tags along with St. Nick, delivering lumps of coal to naughty kids. Well, when he’s not beating them up, that is!
Knecht Ruprecht joins Santa on his rounds too, but he isn’t like Pere, don’t worry! He kidnaps children, instead.
Next up is Zwarte Piet, one of Santa’s helpers who listens at the chimney of family homes to deduce if kids have been naughty or nice. Guys, we got a wholesome helper! Wait - people dress up in blackface to celebrate him?
I think we can all agree that racism is far scarier than anything else on this list…
Lastly, we have Belsnickel. And don’t worry, there’s no racism here. This bloke clad in fur and random clothes asks kids if they’ve been naughty or nice during the year.
Tumblr media
Let’s Talk About The Terrifying Traditions
Well, we did it, guys!
We made it through the monsters behind a Merry Christmas.
And you can rest easy knowing these are all mythical creatures that can add a smidge of spook to your Christmas. But now it’s time to discuss the spooky side to the traditions we pull out of the attic year-upon-year.
So, no, these aren’t based on myths or religion - its based on historical fact!
Great.
Anyways:
If there’s one thing that defines Christmas - and is currently crippling my bank account - its gift giving.
Thinking of giving someone scissors for the most wonderful time of the year? It will literally cut your friendship or relationship in two. And shoes? The receiver of your gift will metaphorically walk away from your relationship.
But if you’re looking for a more, uh, positive gift, a wallet or purse should be on your shopping list, instead.
Tumblr media
Wallets with money in them are believed to ward off demons, ghosts, and all other scary things.
Another creepy Christmas fact is the historical origins of mince pies. As a Brit, seeing Americans attempt to comprehend mince pies always figures as a solid meme. But the origin of it doesn’t steer too far from ‘Murican attempts to replicate this Christmas treat.
Back in the 16th century, cannibals would add human meat to pies, selling it off as actual meat. Oh, and this parallels some vague rumour of Santa being a cannibal. Basics, a holy man told him to give gifts to kids instead of eating them.
In some strange and convoluted way this somehow chocks up to mincemeat now insinuating that there is no meat in there, instead.
*shrugs*
Speaking of tasty treats, why not make sure you stick to the rule of the Baker’s Dozen at Christmas?
When bakers would make batches, they would provide 13 of something instead of a dozen in case something turned out wrong. But they would also provide an extra roll, or a bun, at Christmas!
It’s for that reason that on the 12th day of Christmas, you have to take down your Christmas tree. Fail to do so? You’re gonna have to keep it up all year, then. It’s a mouldy pine tree, or its bad luck.
Tumblr media
Our next tradition stakes it claim as the twisting of a Crimbo icon: it’s Santa Claus, himself.
But this time, he takes on an urban legend that I’m sure many actually believe: understandably, ‘santa’ can be traced to ‘satan’, as if it is the unholy being himself but in disguise. And ‘claus’? It can be translated to ‘hoof claws’, a running theme we see with the monsters like Krampus.
So, could it be the devil in disguise?
Satan aside, who else likes trooping up to midnight mass and singing about the JC?
Well Christmas carols - and even carolling itself - actually sticks to a relatively dark past. Take Good King Wenceslas - this bloke let in peasants and encouraged them to join his bountiful feast!
Unfortunately, his charitable efforts were not rewarded. He was stabbed with a lance repeatedly outside a church upon his own brother’s orders, and was then dismembered.
Yikes.
Historically, carollers would partake in similarly violent activities, demanding food and drink from their audience. Heck, they would even so so far as to start attacking, raping, and destroying their property!
Guess it wasn’t a very Silent Night, then…
Our penultimate tradition is that of the Nutcracker: Whether you’re watching it, or using it to have a Christmas-specific nibble, there’s no doubt that this is pretty popular image of the festive season.
Tumblr media
But - and it’s a big ol’ ‘but’ - it’s based on a truly terrifying story.
No, there’s no ghosts, no ghouls, and certainly no demons. But there is a child marriage.
The story goes that a girl, Marie, sees a nutcracker come to life. Her Grandfather than launches into this story of how men can be cursed with the ugliness of a nutcracker. She replies by saying she’d marry one no matter how they looked.
She is then whisked away into a magical world from which she marries a nutcracker.
This all goes down whilst she is 8 years old.
Our final tradition of terror is less about the abuse of young girls, and more about evil beings breaking into your house. Merry Christmas?
See, you’d think that people coming down your chimney is reserved for one bloke in particular, but it turns out that European tales of malicious spirits taking the same route is a common tale frequently told.
Belsnickel does the same, as do Greek goblins in order to terrorise the residents of the house.
So - What’s Your Verdict?
Which tradition left you shook?
And what Christmas film are you now going to watch to try and wipe this from your brain?
Tumblr media
Be sure to hit follow to see a real spooky story tous les jours (everyday for the unsophisticated among us)!
At this point, I would tell you to have a Merry Christmas, but I think a safe one where, you know, you don’t get dragged to hell by Krampus, is best.

Still Good Chapter 4.
Small talk over dinner turned to a heavy topic as the great All Might gets a bit of perspective he's never seen before as he comes to terms with his feelings no matter what they might be. All Might finds out the price normal hero’s pay every day to make the world a brighter place...and he’s not sure he likes it.
All Might x Reader (OC)
Warning: Mentions of gore and blood. It only get’s worse from here folks! Oh...did you think this was gonna be a cute rom-com filled with sooches and wuv? NU! I make you WORK for that love! (Edited, added a line or two and fixed a bunch of mistakes that were glaring)
Tumblr media
The lull of light dinner conversation mixed with the quiet muttering of the T.V behind them was soothing in a way. There was so few pauses that Toshi could let his mind focus on the topics at hand or things she pointed out on the program over his fluttering heart and twitching nerves. He wasn't so surprised that she was a decent cook. As bland as his food needed to be she picked a rather mild meat rub before cooking his chicken and even finished it off with a few minuets of baking to give it more of a texture over the rubbery feel it had when boiled. He had to admit it was a nice change of pace and tasted great. So much so that Toshi found himself hoping she would make it for him again. Bento boxes every day in a goofy All Might style bento with a little note from her would be the literal definition of heaven. He watched as she happily shoveled some meat in her mouth, catching the happy little hum of enjoyment she let out. A bit childish, not at all proper but Toshi wouldn't change her for the world. Her puffy cheeks filled with food and utterly thrilled expression over something so simple was adding to the atmosphere. Could he ask to stay the night? Make up some kind of excuse like his side hurt or it was too late for the trains. If he pretended to be in pain she might kiss his side again and his guts gave a thrilled twist as the image of her in the kitchen burst through the mental wall he was trying to keep it contained behind.
"Sore wa hendesu!!"
The loud shout from the TV knocked him out of his day dreaming causing Toshi to fumble with his rice bowl for a second. He was caught by a dumb game show host. Shooting a glare in it's direction for good measure he gave a heavy sigh and started eating the end of his meal. "These shows are so weird, I still can't keep up with them. But the talk shows are nice it helps me get a bit more of a feel for professional conversation." The little nurse was covered up to her shoulders in the kotatsu blanket, looking happy and content as she wanted for him to finish his food. This sort of set up was strange to Toshi. Often when you would invite someone to dinner it was a bit more of a occasion, treating that person like a respected guest with constant conversation and offerings of snacks and drinks. This was so casual and seemed more like something married couples would do every night. Sit around and watch T.V and eat their cheap dinners only mildly chatting. No, this was far better. "Damn it Toshi stop thinking like that! This is a common dinner gathering with a friend! This is surely how they do it in the states. Stop getting your weird hopes up"
His eye cast down to the end of his rice. He had eaten far more than he expected himself too given how nervous he felt. He hand't felt 'full' in a long time. If that was indeed what he was feeling. Full, happy and relaxed. That was until she stretched and stood up from her spot. Her work skirt getting caught from her odd position and holding just a bit too high up her milky thigh giving him a beautiful look of the creamy skin that was normally hidden from view. Blood dripped from between his teeth and he snapped his head away to sputter something she thankfully ignored this time around.
"All done? I can start to clean up if you want to finish watching. You can tell me more about that kid you're training yeah? You said he knew about my work back in the states?"
Toshi gave a sort nod, trying to stack his bowls carefully to make the work easier for her. "Yes, thank you! The food was wonderful! I had no idea you were not only a brilliant nurse and hero but you really can cook too." The flush that painted her cheeks was a wonderful reward for his mild complement and Toshi made it a point to do that more often. Constantly if possible. The way she wiggled on the spot and twisted some hair around her fingers, trying to look anywhere but at him with her flustered expression was quiet possibly the cutest thing he had ever seen! Oh he would do it again for sure. Next chance he got.
She scuttled off quickly with a muttered thank you followed by a string of excuses and reasons why she was in fact NOT a good cook at all, facts Toshi ignored as he turned the TV down to listen to her as she set about cleaning their dishes. "So this kid, Midoriya was it?"
"Oh yes right. Young Midoriya shows great promise. That young man is set to do great things..." His voice trailed off as he looked at his own clenched fist. So frail and skinny now it was so important to All Might to train that boy as quickly as possible. His time was limited and he was growing weaker day by day. The thought clawed at the back of his mind and forced a slight twitch in his jaw. Every day was one day less and soon he would have to live like this. A normal, weaker than average citizen who couldn't save people. Couldn't be the symbol he spent his whole life trying to be. Was this really all he had left in the coming days? Once Midoriya was ready and the torch was passed what would he even do with himself? A washed up old has-been hero who could hardly take care of himself. Hell he was here pressing the new nurse just because of a little pain in his side. Was this really what he had become?
A small plastic object was thrust into his view causing Toshi to perk up and snap his head towards her and what ever she was wiggling in his face. That sweet smile greeting him as it always did, her hair let down now that all the work and dinner was done but she kept on that cute little apron and he felt his heart swell from gloom to joy. Was it her quirk? Could she radiate some type of joy through close contact? How quickly she was able to rip him out of his self loathing and into a peaceful quiet. "You can't have sweets normally right? I picked up these flavors honey sticks just in case." One small stick hung between her lips as she blinked down at him. "Non-processed should be better right?"
He gave a soft nod and brushed his fingers against her's again as he took her offering. He thought he caught her little tremble at the contact but brushed it off as a chill from the sudden unexpected feeling of his colder boney fingers against her far warmer....far softer ones. She took the time to think about his needs and cater to them so diligently he was starting to feel like some unnecessary burden who selfishly pushed himself into her life, and for what? Just so he could get all warm and fuzzy seeing her smile? He must not have been hiding his own personal disdain well enough as that same soft hand he brushed seconds ago came down sharply on the top of his head. "H-hey! What-" "You keep getting this look on your face. I don't like it so cut it out." She was so blunt. That dead stare she gave telling him this was not up for debate. "A-ah...sorry I didn't notice I was making one. Didn't mean to upset you or-gah HEY!" Another swift chop and now his head was really starting to hurt.
"A quit with the apologizing alright. We're friends arn't we? If something on your mind you should say it don't sit there and sulk. That's what friends do for each other." The sudden finger thrust in his face had him lean back and staring crossed at her hand. "Besides what good am I as not only your friend but the new up and coming nurse at the great UA high if I can't even mend the spirit and heart of a fellow employee! I'll be an absolute failure! I'll never be able to show my face to grandma again she'll scold me for sure!" Her speech was so dramatic and heartfelt Toshi couldn't stop the slight twitch of his lips that broke quickly out into a smile. Sitting forward he leaned on his elbows and let his head hang. "Cut right to the point don't you kid-" He chose to ignore the delighted look on her face at the return of his nickname but only just. "And you're pretty good at picking up on others emotions, that's a good quality to have in a school nurse. Better yet one at UA. Those kids are the future hero's, they carry a lot of weight on their young shoulders and I bet a lot of them will need all the emotional help they can get as well as physical. I have no doubt you'll be a great asset to the school from this point on." He had meant it to be some kind of compliment. Trying to match her emotional speed in this conversation but the look on her face now told him he fell short. She was scowling?
After a few seconds of silence between them he moved and rubbed the back of his neck nervously "...I say something wrong? You don't-" "You're trying to deflect the conversation Toshinori...." Shit he was caught. She was far better than he gave her credit for. The sudden feel of her hand wrapped around his resting one caused him to jump and nearly fall back from the table. "Come on. Somethings bothering you. You're normally all kinds of jumpy and odd but ever since the kitchen you've been so quiet." Her eyes looked so worried but a different worried that Toshi was only ever used to seeing on her. Worry that went deeper than his scar and title. Worry for Toshinori Yagi on a personal level he hadn't felt in years. But he couldn't just open up to her like this, burden her with more than necessary or more than he already had. Almost instinctively he turned his hand so he could grip hers. Any other circumstance and his heart would be fighting it's way up his throat but he was being tactful here. A common sense misdirection. "It was something Young Midoriya said today. He knew you from your hero work back in the states. You went by Paladin back then right?" She seemed to relax a bit "He...mentioned the way you used to fight and I just can't get it out of my head. What kind of hero agency sends someone like you out on the front lines to be a punching bag for the rest of the fully capable hero's out there? Let you get hurt in their place....it didn't sit right and ever since Young Midoriya brought it up again it's been eating away at me. Knowing you were hurt so badly so often...." His hand squeezed her's tight, tighter than perhaps he should have given the small wince she gave in response but she didn't pull away. Only returned the pressure and placed her other hand over his.
"But it's the exact same thing they did to you." Toshi's head snapped up. What could that possibly mean?! He was the worlds greatest hero, no one could touch him in his prime. He wasn't some striking dummy set out on the streets to take hits he was saving people. "That sounds dumb let me explain. Here in Japan the only reason things are the way they are now is because of you. Sure all the other heros take care of minor crimes that pop up from time to time but you are the whole reason this society works the way it does. You take punches every single day in all different sorts of ways to keep people safe and thriving. No one stops to ask if you're okay, no one gives you a break or time off. For the past twenty years you have been the symbol the world needed you to be....but you were just an object of hope to cling to. A punching back for the worlds problems day in and day out but you did it with a smile. You never asked for anything in return and used your powers to help everyone else around you regardless of the sacrifices you had to make to do it." His side twitched slightly, as if affirming her words. "And you wanted to do it. Use that power in any way you could. Even now the only thing your mind is screaming is for you to help me, even if I don't really need saving. You view it as in injustice that you need to right. Our views on it may be different but I wanted to us my power to help people just like you. Every single use of it needed to go to that cause because otherwise what good is it to just let it sit there and do nothing? If I'm not helping someone with my quirk, even if that help is buying time for the right hero to do the job then what point is there to having it at all? Besides the best look on a villains face is the one they get when their punches just don't work!
Toshi...I need you to understand how normal heros really think. Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like if I was there to take that hit for you....if someone could protect you for once rather than you always having to shelter us. I don't want to only rely on the symbol of peace, I want him to rely on me now! Even if it's just making him food and listening to his problems."
She was so passionate and god damn it was she smart. Ripped that morality right out from under him. He desperately wanted to save someone who didn't need to be saved, from a path they both walked. And she wanted more than anything now to be his hero. Putting herself out there for him here and now made his heart swell.
Her hands were shaking slightly and he worried more than anything that this wasn't the whole picture but he wasn't going to push her. Not now. "While I might not have your power I needed to do this for the people I cared about. Without me so many others would have gotten hurt and many could have died. I can come back from those hits....they can't. Even if it's minor...even if it's scary how can I call myself a hero if I don't do everything I can to help?" She grinned up at him, that shining in her eyes was so hopeful and bright that he found himself starting slack jawed at her for a moment. "How else can I Go Beyond?!"
This was the moment in every sappy romance movie he had ever seen where the hero wrapped his arms around the girl and kissed her until she was out of breath. Held her like he would never let go and showered her with love and adoration. But Toshi was stuck to his seat. Only able to hold her hands and smile right back at her. "You keep on surprising me kid. But you know, I'll never stop worrying about you. It's kinda my job. Even if I'm like this I don't really know any other way to be."
The small laugh that pulled from her warmed his heart but it chilled just as quickly when she let his hands slip from hers to stand. "That's my line you dork. I'm the school nurse after all." As she passed him she let her fingers run over his wild hair and he leaned into the touch like it was second nature and watched her move into the kitchen. Damn it this wasn't good. His heart was thudding so hard he could feel it through his chest. In a few short minuets she had cemented herself as the most kind, beautiful and intelligent woman he had ever met. And cutest, he added as she stumbled out with a few more honey stick and a goofy grin chatting about something else she saw on TV to break the tension and lighten the mood. It was all white noise to him right now. She wasn't his friend. This wasn't a normal relationship with a colleague. This wasn't how he acted with Aizawa, Kayama or Yamada. Hell not even Dave. He couldn't remember a time where he just wanted to be near someone so desperately it hurt.
Time came at last, and to Toshi dismay, that he had to head home. He wanted her to make a fuss and demand he spend the night, not that his nerves would allow him to do anything but stare awkwardly at the ceiling all night long let alone make any sort of romantic move. No, he would first try and talk to her without having a heart attack. Baby steps. She did whine a bit, rolling back from under the blanket and pouting when he insisted on catching the last train home. It was rather late. "I'll see you at UA tomorrow anyway. We need to go over plans for the entrance exam next week so don't look so down alright?" He wouldn't admit he liked that she looked so bummed out. Made his heart do a little flip that she wanted to spend as much time with him as he did her. That was a good start, knowing she wasn't forcing herself to stand him.
"Yeah yeah....Grandma reminded me like six times today. I have alarms set I won't oversleep this time." They both chuckled as he slipped his shoes on and stood in the doorway. "H-hey uh...if you wanna get up a bit earlier we can grab some coffee on the way to work..."
She looked at him with those wide eyes and gave a tilt of her head "Hm? You wanna go to work together?" Toshi stepped back and waved his hands frantically "Y-yeah I mean if you wanted! Only if that's not too weird! I figured you liked coffee given all the mugs you have around the kitchen....it's fine if you want to sleep in I understand don't push yourself." Geez what a stupid idea. This was the second time he asked to see her outside of work and he felt like a total creep. "I would love that." You're nearly fifty years old Toshinori this is unacceptable behavior, you should be ashamed of yourself. Pushing a young girl like this to constantly meet up, someones gonna call the police. "Just text me when you wanna meet up and I'll reset my alarms." Then again it's just coffee....it's not like you asked her out on a date. Was this a date back in the states...not like I dated there either but maybe it is. "Hey Toshi." Way to blow it, first the kitchen now this- a rough jab to his forehead had him fall back against the apartments railing. "You gotta work on your inner turmoil. I would love to get coffee tomorrow morning. Just text me when you want to meet up okay?" He was stuck standing dumbfounded, holding his foehead all slack jawed and flustered. "Y-yeah? Yeah...alright I'll text you." He muttered watching as she grinned behind the closing door until it clicked shut. Yelling out a 'Go home Toshi!' as she sensed he was still standing like an idiot on the balcony. It took him a few more seconds to right himself and step away from her door with one more glance at the apartment that belonged to his crush. He could say that now, be honest with himself, no matter how red in the face it made him as he nearly ran down the steps as if that would distance him from the utter embarrassment.
As Toshi sat on the nearly empty train he found himself staring down at his phone. He wanted to wait at least a bit to text her not wanting to come off any more desperate than he already felt. While he killed time he tapped in her hero name in the search bar. He was surprises to find more than a fair share of hits everything from interviews to caught footage of fights. With a shaking finger he clicked on the first one listed. 'Paladin vs Iron Fist' at least her name was kinda cleaver. But what ever mild enjoyment he got from her hero name was quickly sucked out of him as he watched his poor little nurse get bashed in by a massive man possibly his own size. Not only that but he had; as his name implied fists of Iron that he had no issue using against the tiny girl.
She was quick on her feet at the very least. Dodging some of his slower telegraphed attacks, and he was sloppy and slow. A small time criminal who was used to just beating his way past opponents it seemed. Clearly not used to them getting back up. She took two heavy hits to the jaw and one uppercut that sent her flying upward leaving her open to a sudden massive barrage of punches to the stomach and chest. The force of it knocked her back into a wall that gave way with the power of it. Even he would be winded after something like that. The camera zoomed in as close as it could from their distance and Toshi was horrified to see the pool of blood slowly spreading from in impact site. Only her twitching legs visible behind and under the rubble. More blood that he was comfortable seeing coming from anyone. No one could get up from that...she must have been a mangled mess of bone. But slowly those feet moved in and some of the broken building was pushed away as she climbed out. Wiping her jaw from the small dribble of blood that still lingered. She was otherwise fine. Scraped up and winded, glowing that faint green of her quirk but otherwise no worse for ware. She was even grinning as she righted herself and gave a little stretch. "Think you can even me out big guy? Never feels right to only have one side punched you know?" As if she suddenly noticed the camera she turned and gave a thumbs up, what an All Might move. "Don't try this at home kids! You might not get up so quick!" The villain was back on her in a second shoving her body back into the rubble with a horrible crack and the sound she made turned his insides in knots.
So it did hurt....every hit she took hurt as if she were a normal human. Every broken bone, every rip or scrape she could feel it all. And this villain was beating her into the ground with no mercy! His hands were shaking, gripping his phone so tightly he saw the screen suddenly crack and snapped him from the sudden rush of boiling anger that threatened to spill over. His phone still worked just fine he noted as he stared at his grim reflection in it's damaged surface. The hero's had figured out a plan by that point and someone was pulling him off her as he switched his phone off. She did that every single day with a smile on her face. Just like All Might. And people adored her for it if the comments and commentary were anything to go by. The person filming even said they didn't feel worried as long as she was on the scene. That did nothing for that burning hate he felt in the pit of his stomach. His hand clutched over his mouth as he sat in silence for the rest of the ride.
Never again. No one would ever hurt her again.

Imagine Reader/Sebastian Part 6
I may or may not have exagerated on the size of this chapter heheh.... sorry
Tumblr media
Previous part here: https://delightfulstarlightparadise.tumblr.com/post/629648429892665344/before-we-start-i-once-again-remind-you-that
I would like to remind you that English is not my main language, but I am doing my best.
You spend all morning collecting parsnips, but you get a very nice price for them at Pierre’s, enough to cover both your hospital and saloon bills, and also buy some food for the farm. It is a little less than what you used to make in a week, but you feel really nice about yourself.
You are happily walking back to the farm when you hear someone calling you.
“Did I get your name right?” a blonde girl says coming down the stairs that lead to the fountain in the community center. “I really wanted to take a look at you. Emily had told me you were very good-looking.”
You turn to her and see that she is analyzing you from head to toes. This makes you feel a little vulnerable.
“I guess under all that dirt and with some different clothes you might actually look pretty nice.” she says.
“Excuse-me?!” is the only thing you can stutter behind a gag of disbelief.
“I am Haley. My sister is the crazy blue haired girl that works at Stardrop.” she says.
You can’t even bring yourself to greet her.
“I guess you won’t be much of a menace, then.” she speaks just like those mean girls you thought were only seen in movies. “See you around.”
The same sudden way she came, she goes away, charmingly walking in heels, moving her hips in an 80’s movie sexy way.
“Told you being weird over here is nothing.”
You look behind your shoulder and Sebastian is smoking ,  coming from the bus stop path.
“You know, Sam kicked me in a place that hurts this morning and I think somehow it is your fault.” he says without even greeting you. “Did you say something about the crush I told you?”
“I just asked.” you say, shrugging.
“How are you?” he asks.
“Fine. Why?”
“Because. Isn’t it something normal people ask when they meet?” he lets go the cigarette smoke almost in your face, he doesn’t seem to care about here the smoke is going. “Also, I overheard my mom and Maru talking about you being in the hospital yesterday. Did you drink too much again? We already have two alcoholics in town.”
“It was nothing like that. I just...” met a wizard and drank a green potion he gave me? That seemed to support more his theory of what happened. “... had an insulation?”
“Yeah... don’t push yourself too hard.” he says. “See you around, drunk farmer.”
“Bye gingerbread.” you reply with a whisper.
He freezes at his spot as if he was just hit in the stomach and slowly turns to you over his shoulder.
“What did you just say?” his voice i s  rough.
“Nothing.” you say with a giggle.
“No, no. Repeat that. I heard you say it.”
“I didn’t say anything.” you  shrug . “I better be going, I still have to eat lunch, I don’t  wanna  pass out somewhere else, again.”
“You are that fucking kid that used to hang around with Alex and call me gingerbread man, weren’t you?” he says. “I fucking hated you back then.”
“That is why you tried to kill me?”
His infuriated expression was quickly overrun by a nervous one.
“I didn’t try to kill you, it was an accident. And I saved you.” he says looking sideways a bit ashamed.
“You don’t call me what you just did, I don’t tell her you used to be a red hair.” you say.
“Her?... ABBY?! HELLO.”
Abigail shows up from behind Sebastian, holding his hips as if she was trying to scare him. It actually worked because he turned red right away.
“Hi  Seb . Hey farmer! What are you doing?” she says.
“Hello. I was going home.” you say.
“The two of you are getting along well, right?” she says and you can feel something weird in her voice. “It is the third time I see you hanging out.”
“We used to know each other.” you say and Sebastian sends you the most infuriated and threatening look you have ever seen.
“I see...” she says, looking a little worried. “Did I interrupt something? Do you want me to leave?”
“No, it is fine. I was just leaving.” you say and organize your food packages in your hands. “See you later.”
“Wait a moment!” Sebastian says. “Abby, excuse-us just a second.”
Sebastian hugs you from your shoulders and takes you a little further from Abigail, that keeps staring at you both, curious.
“You don’t ever tell anyone I was ginger. EVER.” he whispers by your ear. “Neither how you used to call me. Got it?”
“Or what?” you say, bumping into his chest with your shoulder and smirking.
He steps away impressed with your strength. He stares at you as if he is about to do something that he doesn’t even know what is.
“Relax. I was just kidding.” you say, and wave at Abigail. “See you around.”
“Hey y/n wait!” Abigail calls. “We are  gonna  play videogames at Sam tonight, come too.”
Sebastian chokes at his own breath and you start feeling very anxious over the invite.
“I have... something... I...” you stutter.
“Come on!” she says, coming closer to both of you. “It is going to be fun, like that day in the saloon. Tell the farmer to come, Sebastian.”
“Cooome...” he says in a VERY sarcastic way.
“I... I will see about that.” you say very quickly. “I really need to go now.”
“Sebastian will pick you up when he is coming! He will be there at seven!” she says in such a firm way you don’t even know what to reply.
“Abby, what the...” Sebastian whispers at her.
“Didn’t you say Sam had a crush on the farmer.” she whispers back. “Let’s help him!”
“Yeah, but he likes Penny, now.”
“Oh, come on, Penny... so boring.”
It couldn’t be possible that they thought you were not listening to them. She keeps insisting and even pokes him on his ribs until he agrees to her.
“I will pick you up.” he says.
“O...k...” you say in a very uncomfortable way.
You go away living the two of them behind and, as you look over your shoulder you can see Sebastian discreetly lowering his face... maybe for a kiss? Were these two dating after all?
You quickly think that this is none of your business and when Sebastian comes over your house you can find an excuse for that unwanted social interaction.
When you arrive your house, there is a man sitting on your porch. He wears an eyepatch and a long cape, just like some character from a videogame.
You stand still by the gate while staring at him, wondering why can’t you avoid social interactions AT ALL in that town. As he sees you, he stands up in a very noble posture and greets you:
“Good afternoon, y/n. I am Marlon, the Adventure’s guild master.”
“The what, now?” you mutter.
You remember Linus saying something about that man but... couldn’t he be just some crazy guy? If a man dressed up like that in Zuzu  city came towards you saying he was of some Guild, you would probably runaway. Maybe you should find a way to lock that gate on your farm...
“Linus told me you had a battle with a Wilderness golem.” he says. “And that you were very brave.”
That was not what happened, but you didn’t really know what to tell him.
He slid  his cape to the side, letting you see an old and rusty sword that he, then, handed to you. It was very light, but you felt unease about being holding a white weapon that could easily hurt someone.
“Here, it is for your protection at night.” he said. “Also, if you enter the mines, you will certainly need it.”
You just nod at him, as yo u  don’t know what to reply.
“I can see in your eyes you have the adventurous spirit in you. I will tell you! If you can slay 10 slimes I will give you a pass to the guild.”
“If I can what?” you think to yourself as you shake your head in agreement.
“Farewell my fellow adventurer.” he says, and leaves as if he is a knight going for battle.
When you see he is far enough you immediately let go the sword, letting it carve on the ground in front of your porch. You didn’t want any of these!
You get inside your house, but the memory of the Wilderness golem attack comes to your mind as soon as you see Dog l yi ng on the carpet, he is waving his tail at the sight of you, and you notice that he has a scratch on his back. You hadn’t stopped to take a good look at him before. You feel bad for him having gotten hurt while defending you.
You get back outside and grab the sword.
“Come here boy, let’s give you a shower and take care of this injury.”
You take a long time bathing Dog and then making a bandage on the hurt spot... and you forget to eat again... Dog is probably hungry too, it’s a nice thing you bought some dog food for him. As for you, maybe you should microwave a pizza.
You hear a knock at the door.
“What is it now, someone bringing me some bows and arrows? A fucking witch?” you say to yourself while getting to the door.
As you open up, you face Sebastian staring at you with a sneering face. He looks really good, the hair is a little less messy and he is wearing a black shirt and a leather jacket instead of the usual hoodie you see him in.
“What the hell were you talking about?” he asks between dragging and exhaling the smoke of his cigarette.
“Damn it. I forgot.” you say. “Look, I can’t go, I haven’t eaten yet.”
“I can wait, I am early. Besides, I am taking some snacks too.” he says.
“Why don’t you just... say I was not feeling ok? Please.” you insist, trying to slowly close the door.
“Abby won’t fall for that. And... Sam was pretty excited when I told him you were going, I don’t want to disappoint him.” he replies pushing the door open and getting inside.
He stops at the sight of your cottage. Just a little room with a bed, a table and a chair. The smallest fridge he had ever seen (for sure you had seen too) an old tv , a microwave and a small bathroom. That was all.
“You should get my mom to upgrade this house sometime.” he says without any regard to  whether  that would sound rude or not.
“Do I look like I have that kind of money?” you reply with a little frown.
He sits on the only chair available and puts the package he is carrying on the table, beside a... helmet.
“Aw man...You did not came by bike, did you?.” you say anxiously. “I am not riding with you, you can tell them anything, I am not going.”
“Hey what is your deal with motorcycles?” he says. “I will ride safely, don’t worry.”
You cross your arms and take a deep breath.
“It is... personal.” you say.
He stares at you seemingly worried but then he just looks to the other side and nods.
“Ok then. We walk and then I come pick up my bike.” he says.
You sigh as you see that he is probably not going away without you.
“Wait there, I will dress up.” you say with your head down.
You get to the bathroom and take a quick shower, then dress up with one of the only nice set of clothes you have left, you tide up your hair (and maybe put on some make up if you like it). You don’t have any perfume left, so you can only hope that the shower was enough to get off the smell of dirt from the farm.
When you get out of the bathroom you see Sebastian glance at you, quite surprised, but he quickly stands up and gets the package with snacks from the table. You realize this is probably the first time anyone sees you and you are not tired from a long trip or all covered in farm dirt.
As the two of you are leaving, you look at the sword behind your headboard and wonder if you shouldn’t take it with you, just in case... but he would probably think you are even weirder for doing so. You remember Linus saying the town’s folk are protected by some spell, so you hope being with Sebastian helps those monsters from attacking you... but maybe...
“Hey, what is taking so long?” he says.
“How weird would you think I am if I brought a sword along?” you ask.
Sebastian stares at you a little surprised.
“What, have you met any slimes around the forest? I guess spring is also their breeding season.” he says. “But you don’t have to ask me anything about it. You do as you please, I don’t judge you.”
He scratches his neck a little blushed.
“Abby sometimes brought a sword to your farm when we came here.”
You get impressed that Sebastian talks about slimes, but you then remember what Linus said about some magic in the valley that made people think those magic things were normal. You feel very relieved to be able to bring the sword with you.
It is kind of a long walk and Sebastian smokes two entire cigarettes along the way. You walk in silence until you arrive the forest entrance of the city, where you can see a blue house with a navy sign above the door, not far away.
You then see that a man is staggering from the road to your direction, holding a can of beer. He is grunting and does not seem to see either you or Sebastian coming in the opposite direction. Sebastian pulls you aside so you get out of the man’s way.
“What?” he says, staring at you. “What did you say?”
“Nobody said anything, Shane.” Sebastian replies. “We are just going to Sam’s house.”
“They keep staring at me, I don’t know what these people keep looking. Why they don’t leave me alone...” he mutters while passing beside you.
As he says this you notice that you WERE in fact staring him and you feel a little bad about it. Maybe that is why the man engaged in such a rude talk. You saw a lot of people like him in the streets of Zuzu  city.
“Don’t worry about him.” Sebastian says, and signs for you to keep walking.
Something about that man pulls your attention and you keep looking at him until he disappears in the forest.
“Is he ok?” you ask. “Is it ok to let him go like that. Isn’t that forest dangerous?” you ask.
“He gets like this every night... never died.” Sebastian says shrugging. “He works with Sam.”
You think that is very bad of him to say something like that, but you think again, if you were willing to do anything to help anyway. You continue to walk to Sam’s house.
“Why are they taking so long?” you hear a worried whisper.
Abigail and Sam are waiting for you outside his house. She looks absolutely stunning with a nice black dress and a denim jacket. Sam is wearing some stay-home shorts and a T-shirt and when he sees you and Sebastian arrive,  he gets quite embarrassed.
“Man, what do you think I invited you to do?! It is just videogames! Why are you guys all dressed up?” he complains. “Now I feel like I have to put on some pants.”
“You look fine.” Sebastian says and pushes the snacks packages against his chest. “Go get us some food, y/n haven’t eaten yet.”
None of them seem to care about the sword you are caring on your waist.
You get inside and it is quite a charming home, it seems to have been tied up very carefully and gently. A ginger lady (that was quite a ginger town) was seated on the couch watching TV while that boy who kicked a ball on your had some days before was playing with toys on the floor.
“Abby!!  Seb ! Ah... and y/n!” Vincent say very happily.
He runs towards Abigail and hugs her legs, then Sebastian fist bumps him. He stops in front of you and waves, uncertain of what to do, but showing a small smile.
“Good night Mrs. Jodi.” both Sebastian and Abigail say.
“Good night.” you follow, in a clumsy way.
“Oh, hi kids!! Welcome!” she replies with a smile. “Hello y/n, nice to finally meet you. I am happy that you are already friends with my son.”
You nod and try to smile, once again, uncertain of what to do, but Sebastian just pushes you forward to the direction of Sam’s room.
“You are a social disaster.” he whispers at you.
“Don’t tell me!” you reply.
“You are not much better  wi th people yourself.” Abigail says. “ I don’t think you get to say anything about the farmer.”
“ Yeah, but I chose to be this  way” he replies.
Sam suddenly grabs you by the shoulders and excitedly yells that combination of your names he made up  during the snooker game.
“Let’s team up y/n!!”
“Aw man, I  wanna   team up with the farmer! Sebastian doesn’t know how to  do teamwork.” Abigail complains.
“Why do you think I chose y/n??” Sam replies, showing her his  tongue  in a  very childish way.
A loud noise comes from your stomach, and you go red with shame while hiding your face between your hands.  Abjgail  let go a giggle  while Sam slowly steps back , heading outside his room, probably to the kitchen to grab you something to eat.
He comes back full handed with bowls of snacks, sauce and some soda bottles, but for you he gives a plate of what seems to be a complete dinner. This makes you even more  embarrassed.
“Don’t worry, my mom always makes too much food.”  He says with a smile.
While you are eating, and it is absolutely delicious, both you and Abigail watch while Sam and Sebastian play a combat game . Sebastian wins two of the three rounds but not as easily as he won in snooker a couple of days before.  Abigail, then, takes Sam's control. She wins the first round  but Sebastian is way too good in the game and beats her the same way he did to Sam.
“Your turn now, farmer.” Abigail says, handing you the control.
“I wouldn’t even bother…” Sebastian brags , putting the control on his lap and cracking his fingers.
You wipe your mouth with a napkin and take the control, then choose one of the tiniest characters in the game.
“Are you kidding? Chose another character, this one sucks.” Sebastian says.
“But it is so cute.” You reply. “I  wanna  play with it.”
“Suit yourself. This is  gonna  be quick.” He replies.
You smirk while pulling the control closer to your body. The screen announces the beginning of the match and you quickly start pressing a combination of buttons that is so well memorized you don’t even need to think about what you are doing. Your character hops around the screen punching and kicking Sebastian's and it is so fast that his character can’t hit it with their strikes. Just a few minutes later the screen announces your flawless victory.
Sebastian drops the control on his lap, staring at the screen in disbelief, he then turns to you in a mix of anger and awe. You can’t contain  a victorious smile.
“Wow! I didn’t even know this character could do  these kinds of maneuvers!” Sam exclaims while taping you in the back. “This was so awesome!!”
“Wow! You play very well, farmer!” Abigail congratulates.  “You beat  Seb  to the ground.”
“Round two!” Sebastian  angrily  says, picking up the control while the screen announces the second round.
You rest the control on your lap and start lightly pressing those same buttons making your character hop around the screen in that same way, with the same result. Sebastian's character drops in slow motion in another “flawless victory"  announcement .
He turns to you in what seems an expression of complete defeat and makes a gesture of questioning.
“I used to play a lot of videogames on my free time.” you explain. “Also, I know a lot of special moves from reading forums.”
“Yeah, I do that too.” Sebastian says, upset, tossing his control to Sam.
You kind of pity him for getting so bitter over his loss, but it is pretty satisfying  winning over him after that pool play. You are a bit of a competitive person and he seems to be too. You spend the rest of the night defeating the three of them using the most underrated characters of the game. Each match Sebastian seems more determined to win, but even when he gets close to it, you find a way to win using a special power he didn’t know about or a combo you made up yourself.
“You are REALLY good at it!” Abigail says excitedly. “You have to teach me this combo.”
“You just press triangle and x while moving forward.” you say, getting close to her and showing the way you move the buttons. “Using the analogic is better than the arrows, see? It is faster.”
Abigail tries to replicate your movements, frowning her browns and biting her tongue in a very adorable and concentrated face. You blush at the sight of it and barely notice that she is doing everything wrong.
“No, wait, you have to move your finger to this side, unless you want to invert the control’s settings.” you say.
“Can you do that?! It seems much easier to turn this way.” she replies. “Maybe that is why I can’t beat my game at home! Hey, can you come over and teach me how to do this?”
Sebastian stares at you with the most outraged face while Sam glances from the two of you to him in a worried expression.
“I can write you a tutorial.” you reply.
“ Nooo ... I hate messing with these kinds of things, I might even burn the console. Please come and help me, I live behind my father’s store.” she says in a very slick way. “ Pleaase ...”
You can almost feel Sebastian’s eyes burn the back of your neck, but Abigail’s stare is just as intimidating. You are afraid that if you give her any excuse she will read into your soul and then find a way to curse you into accepting.
“Ok...” you reply completely uncomfortable.
She smiles at you in a victory gesture. Sebastian on the other hand, grunts and stands up turning off the videogame.
“We should be going now.” he says.
“What? It is still so early!” Sam complains. “I didn’t even brought the sweet snacks.”
“I am pretty sure y/n has to wake up early to attend the farm’s business.” he replies. “Also, I have a code to finish.”
“Aw man, I was going to ask y/n to teach me how to unlock the mysterious character.” he grunts and puts the controls beside the console.
“Haven’t I already told you how to do it?” Sebastian is almost growling at him.
“Yeah, but I never get to do it when you are not here. You don’t explain things very well.” Sam mutters.
You can see Sebastian discretely slapping him in the back of his head while Abigail is still busy moving her fingers as if rehearsing the new move  she has learned from you.
Sam takes you outside and waves goodbye  at you as you walk towards Abigail’s house to escort her there before you go back to the farm. It is not a long walk until you get to Pierre’s.
“You should hang out with us more often.” she says and taking you completely out of guard, she kisses you on the cheek.
You freeze completely, your face becoming a bright tone of red as you hear Sebastian gasp in outrage. Abigail doesn’t even bother saying goodbye to him, she just gets inside and you see her long purple hair waving through the glass door.
Both you and Sebastian stay put for a while.
“We should be going right?” you say.
“Yeah...” he replies with what, for you, seems to be a roar of threat.
You walk in silence until you get to the entrance of the forest. Sebastian seems so stressed that he puts out two cigarettes in that short walk.
“Listen, I don’t want to stay in your way.” you apprehensively say.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” he replies, sharply.
“Abigail.”
“What about her?” he asks and his voice barely comes out.
“Aren’t you, like, her boyfriend or something?” you ask.
Sebastian chokes in his cigarette smoke and spends quite some time coughing, but it seems to be more about making you stop talking. As you keep staring at him, he stops and looks back at you, his eyebrows frowned and cheeks a little blushed.
“It is complicated.” he says.
“Ok, none of my business.” you say, putting your hands up beside your shoulders.
“Thanks.” he says.
“But you do seem to like each other.” you can’t help saying.
“I said THANK YOU.” he yells and you giggle.
You keep walking through the forest, passing a little cabin near the river and then, Marnie’s ranch until you reach the bottom entrance of the farm. When the two of you are entering, you hear a terrible screech and Sebastian stops to look around.
“What the hell was that?” he asks.
“A bat, maybe?” you say, your hand is already on the handle of your sword.
You hear it again and out from between the trees a giant skull head comes dashing at both of you, cracking its teeth as if it is about to bite you.
You push Sebastian aside and swing the sword at it, but it ducks and attacks you with a bump in your chest, sending you flying to the ground near him.
“What the fuck!? What the fuck?!” he yells while standing up and trying to help you stand up too.
The skull takes a turn and aims at Sebastian, but you push him aside again and this time, you get to hit it with your sword knocking it back a few yards. It makes a horrible sound and quickly comes back in your direction. You wave your sword, but  miss, and it bites your arm.
You hear Sebastian scream your name in worry, and it hurts like hell, but you find a way to set yourself free and knock the skull with the sword again.  It let go a cry of  anger and try to advance, but it is suddenly knock down by a shadow.
It is D og! He came to save you once again .
Dog bites it and presses it against the ground while it screams and tries to escape. With a big effort from your hurt arm, you stab the skull as hard as you can, and it shatters into pieces that start disappearing.
You let go the sword and fall on your knees, puffing and moaning in pain. Dog comes closer and licks your face, his tail slightly wagging.
You feel a touch on your shoulder and turn around quickly in a defensive pose, but it is just Sebastian checking on you. He is covered in dirt and his eyes are  wide open with the scare.
“It's me, it's me.” He says, kneeling by your side and trying to make you let go of your hurt arm so he can see it. “ This is ugly, I should take you to the hospital.”
“And say what, that you bit me?” you reply trying to make him get away from the wound, that clearly looked like a human bite.
“Do you have any other ideas?” he asks.
“Take me to the Wizard!” you yell in pain.
“The WHAT now?” Sebastian says.
“You know, the guy that lives in that weird tower in the forest. He will help me... I guess... damn it, it hurts so much!”
By now you have started crying and Dog starts barking at Sebastian, as if he is telling for him to hurry. He stands up and runs to get his motorcycle.
Besides you starting to say that you are not going to hop on that, Sebastian lifts you with a strength he does not seem to have and forces you to sit in the backseat.
“No!!” you yell and tears are coming down.
“Just hold on ok. I promise you we’ll be ok.”
You shake your head negatively, but Sebastian takes your unwounded arm and makes you hold onto his hip. He stops for a moment, holding your hand and staring at it, as if he has just zoned out in some thought. His hand is cold, probably because he is nervous and scared, but you feel suddenly comforted by it. You slowly stop crying with small sobs.
“Can you hug me with the other arm?” he asks.
You nod and pass the other arm around his hip. He starts the motorcycle engine, and you let go a shout of fear, hugging Sebastian tight and pressing your face against his back. He starts riding fast towards the west of the forest.
“Are you ok?” he asks midway.
You can only bring yourself to nod.
“You are holding a bit tight...”
“I am sorry.” you sob, but can’t loosen the hug.
“It’s ok...”
When you arrive, as soon as Sebastian stops the bike, you hop out and fall on you knees of it giving him a big scare. He hops after you, and even lets the motorcycle drop on the forest floor. He helps you stand up and walk to the tower.
    You knock at the door.
“Who can it be at this time... Oh  Yoba !” the Wizard attends and gasps in surprise to see you bleeding. By that time your sleeve is all red. “Come on in! Come on in!”
The Wizard gives you some weird red medicine to drink and Sebastian stares at it very uncertain if he should let you do it or not, but you quickly grab it and gulp it down. The pain starts to fade away while Rasmodius  cleans up the wound and infuses it with herbs.
“So, what happened?” the wizard asks when you finally seem better.
“I ask you!” you yell at him. “I don’t remember signing up to fight MONSTERS. A fucking flying skull BIT ME!”
“Hmm... it seems like your ability to connect with the valley comes with the hazard of attracting the cursed ones.”  Rasmodius  says. “Not even my strong spell can protect you as it does to the townsfolk. It impresses me that you were attacked along with one.”
Sebastian is staring at Rasmodius  seeming VERY confused. That is probably the same face you made when you first met him.
“I will be going back to  Zuzu ! That is it!” you say.
“I am afraid it is not possible anymore.”  Rasmodius  replies, scratching his purple beard.
“Excuse me?!”
“You see, once you are now connected to the valley, you will find very difficult to leave.” he says. “You may try to take the bus, or any other way of transportation, but you will always find yourself back here.”
“I don’t believe it! You are saying this to keep me here with those monsters and the...  Junimos ! They are telling you to do this!”
“What the fuck are you talking about?” Sebastian asks.
“Those little apple things that live in the old community center! They are behind this.”
Sebastian stares at you as if you were the craziest person in the world.
“Show him!” you shout, turning to the wizard.
“Only those connected to the Elementals can...” he starts lecturing.
“I DON’T  FUCKING CARE, FUCKING SHOW HIM!!!” you yell while beating your feet on the ground.
Both the Wizard and Sebastian jump in place scared by your sudden lash out. He takes off his hat and scratches his head.
“What is with this new generation and curses?” he sighs. “So be it...”
Rasmodius  starts saying some incomprehensible words and each and every one of the rocks of the tower start shaking. Sebastian holds tight to the chair you are sitting and you start regretting saying anything at first place. A big flash of light blinds you for a second, and in the middle of the room a summoning circle appears. In the middle of the circle, the tiniest apple appears.
It is a little green Junimo . It waves at you and Sebastian and starts making those funny noises it does. You turn to Sebastian and gesture at it.
“I have been smoking too much pod.” he says while rubbing his head.
You stand up and force him to sit down on the chair you were sitting, then hush to pick the Junimo  on your hand. You squish it while showing it to him, and then, you start, very dramatically, telling him EVERYTHING that has been happening to you since your arrival: the old memories, the plants growing too fast, the community center, the monsters attack.
He listens to everything staring at you as if some engine has just broken inside his head. When you finally finish, he keeps staring in silence.
“I think it was too much for this young man.”  Rasmodius  says, analyzing Sebastian’s face from up close. “Maybe I should wipe his memory.”
“No! No messing around with my head anymore, please!” he says, standing up quickly. “I knew you were trouble! I should have stayed home washing the dishes and let  Maru  hang out with you.”
“Excuse me! I am clearly the victim here. Also, this bite here? I got it protecting you!” you say while shaking your previously wounded arm.
“Apparently you were the one who put me in danger in first place.”
The two of you keep staring at each other in infuriating rage. Rasmodius  makes a wonderous pose and then smacks his fist on his  hand as  if he had just made a discovery.
“I see... your destinies are connected. You are the ones for each other.” he says.
“THE WHAT?” you both yell.
“He has a girlfriend!” you say pointing at Sebastian outraged.
“Abigail is NOT my girlfriend.” he replies.
“Interesting, interesting.” the Wizard mumbles. “You have found yourselves so soon in your journey, such a connection is rare.”
“Excuse me Mr. But farmer here isn’t my type.”
“Wow! What?! Am I too ugly for you?” you don’t even know why you are still bickering over it, but you don’t feel like letting him say something like that about you.
“Did I say that? You said that. I didn’t say that.” Sebastian talks back.
“I see, I see...”  Rasmodius  isn’t even paying attention to you. “Quite a journey you have ahead of you. You shall, then, rest for tonight.”
“ Wha ...”
Before the both of you can finish the sentence, the Wizard gestures with his open hands and a big flash of light involves you...
…when you realize, you are waking up on your bed. There is no bite in your arm anymore. You can hear the rooster sing in the distance.
